I have a 93 ranger with the 2.3l 5sp 2wd with 507,000+ miles and still rocking the original engine transmission and rear end! Lol The truck is super clean other than some dingers. If this engine ever gives up was going to put a 302 in it but thinking of having someone rebuild this 2.3 with some go fast stuff. Its my daily work truck got it 13 years ago with 225,000. How much hp can you get out of these? Where you guys located? Thanks!

Thanks for your comment Paul. These 2.3’s sure are reliable so I feel your trouble deciding on what to do. 500k is impressive! I’ve heard of some people getting close to 300hp N/A but I’m not sure of any turbo numbers. They are having to do quite a bit to get that much out of them though. Roller cam, port and polish, bigger valves, longer rods, stroke, the list goes on. Which makes them fun to upgrade! We are located in Southeast MO and race ours on a 1/6 mile dirt track.
