$2.3m Aston Martin Vulcan Insane V12 Engine Sound!

I have filmed the Aston Martin Vulcan in action around the circuit of Misano during the Ultracar Sports Club track event. The Vulcan is powered by a 7.0L V12 N/A that produces 800hp and basicly is a track-toy limited to just 24 units with a price tag of $2.3m.

I was lucky enough to see one of these at Brands Hatch in May... in person it sounds diabolically evil. In a good way! It's a very unique engine note and just fills the entire complex with screaming white hot noise. Love it!

95 RACING If this was a nobody I would understand, but you can buy 5.7L NASCAR V8s that are spec'd to 800hp for $15~25K and are designed to run constantly almost like a endurance engine. This being 7L V12 from a company with deep pockets, why isn't it making 900~1000hp? The old C6R had a 7L V8 that if you removed the restrictor plates it would be 800hp. Since this is a track only car, meaning not road legal, much like the Ferrari FXX which is making 820hp from its 6.2L V12, they can build a race motor without the need for long term reliability or emissions controls. If the Vulcan was a road legal car, meaning the engine won't have to be rebuilt after each session then I would say, damn yes insane, but when it comes to race engines 800hp from a 7liter is not insane, it's expected.

Take the Ferrari F12, tune up the engine, put racing exhaust with straight pipes, put magnesium wheels with race tyres, stripe off the interior, put the aerodynamic parts on it and you'll get a better and faster car than this AM....and street legal and much cheaper.

You'll see bits of the designs in their new cars, the DB11 being the first, which is when Astons will be sporting AMG's engines.
