A lot of needy people. Andrew shows you how to make all his antennas yet people often ask to buy from him. I think that if wanted to sell his antennas he would have advertised this bit. Those wanting to test his antenna and want Andrew to send them one for testing. Stop. Make it yourself, then test it.

I have been using a can opener that slits the folded portion attaching the lid away cleanly, works even better than the regular can opener that cuts into the top of the lid. It would make short work of removing the portion that you want.

Ok Andrew my first attempt at making an antenna and it's this one, gotta work on my soldering skills but not bad and also fairly easy to make, right now I'm using RG 58 coax but I do have better ordered just waiting for it to come. I plan on making quite a few other ones of different styles, I'll keep you up to date with my progress. Thanks for your common sense videos Lorin A Randall (Bo)

Your antennas looks very professional, it's amazing how you put all the materials togheter, i live in the country so i don't even know where to take the stuff i need all i can think about is to buy a cheap chinese antenna from a shop and use the connector and the wire to build one like yours and take apart an old transformator for the copper wire; what you think about?

Thank you for your excellent videos. I currently live in a very rural area and barely have a 4G LTE signal. In order to improve my signal strength I've been exploring antenna options for a point to point setup to the cellular tower. I have an old satellite TV parabolic dish and will be using it. I though I was going to use a traditional biquad feed head until I watched this video, and your round lobe biquad video. Both appear to show outstanding gains. Which one of these antenna's would you recommend as a feed head in a parabolic dish antenna for point to point wireless internet reception/transmission? This parabolic blade, your round lobe biquad, or a traditional biquad? Thanks.

Hi Andrew, another great video! Thank you for your time and effort. How does the can diameter effect reception? does it just need to be wider than antenna, or are other factors at work?

Andrew, why in some videos do you use 31.5 mm and in this one for instance 25mm for 1/4 wavelength at 2.4 Ghz. I have made several of your antennas and they work very well, so much I have started playing with my own small modifications.. Thank you Gary

Hello Andrew I love to watch a craftsman that's good at his craft ,I have watched many of your videos in the last few years and i would like to get your input into building a lightweight compact 5.8 ghz L/H polorised antenna for use on fat-shark goggles and to get as much punch into the signal to combat going through the tree's .I use two fatshark LH cloverleafs at present but still get significant breakup when going around the trees.have you any recommendations as i would value your input sir. Cheers

nice video!!! verry intresting!!...just a thought here for fpv use...if i do a parabolic "left hand" circular polarized antenna and mount it upside down, wouldn't the receiving antenna need to be right hand polarized assuming its pointing straight up in order for the signal to rotate in the same direction?....other thought I had was if you could just hotglue a parabol on top (not making contact )of a Cp antenna like a hat or umbrella and have the cp antenna pointing upwards...like a mushroom... love your videos and all the best to you!

Andrew, any chance of creating a video for a Parabolic Cloverleaf for 5 Ghz ?? Some additional information regarding the aerosol can, two sizes available. The linear diameter of the base is 51mm. This gives a parabola of 46.11 mm, depth at 9.04 mm. This results in a focal point at 14.69 mm. Also found a larger can, linear diameter= 65.60 mm. This gives a parabola of 63 mm, depth at 8.5 mm. Focal point at 31.03 mm

@andrewmcneil

I use acrylic paint and I also use plasti dip any effect on the performance at these frequencies are so small you would need ridiculously expensive test equipment to pick it up. So yes it will effect gain but you will not notice it. ;-)

+andrew mcneil Why not? You should change the size. Lamda=C/Hz, Antenna size is Lamda/2 or Lamda/4. C=299792458m/s and for Hz you can use 900 000 Hz or 1800 000 Hz.
