Nice work! They would look dope with some led lights! I don't need any, but I still watched the process.

Thank you again for making these for our daughter’s skates. You help make playing hockey sooooo much easier for her and take away any pain she may have experienced without having a lift on her skates. We’re very grateful to you!

You mean that your daughter has gained some kind of latheral stability? Cuz I still cannot get the idea of that. Whole my life i've always thought that you will be more stable when you keep as close as you can to the ice

@@mss_ds1496 I think you missed a key point. Their daughter has uneven length legs ... one being 2.5 cm shorter than the other. So, this modification is raising the height short-legged skate to match that of the longer leg ... as taking length away from the longer leg doesn't make sense. ;) Therefore, her hips are now properly level, and likely will experience significantly less wear and discomfort. That having been said, the current trend in runners and blades is to increase the height as this allows the skate to lean over more and therefore increase agility. Modern skating techniques compensate well for a slightly higher center of gravity. In some ways, stability is the enemy of agility.

Nazem Kadri has lifts on both of his skates, left on is larger. Kind of interesting to see the process.

Nice work. I did a pair for myself @ bc shoe repair and skate sharpening. I have a 2" lld and did my skates at 1.5" Feels great to be able to skate again.

I suffer with a similar issue. I have a 1.5" leg length differential due to a femur growth plate break when I was younger. I have refereed hockey in north eastern BC for our minor hockey association for almost 20 years with a 1/2" wedge lift (heel only) and as I get older, I am struggling more and more with back and knee issues. I have been thinking about this type of skate modification for the past 3 years and was curious if it could be done! I am going to send this video to our local skate shops and see if they can duplicate your technique. If I lived closer to Ottawa it would be a no brainer to come by your shop. Thanks for giving me some hope that I can continue to enjoy skating once again.

2.5 CM or inches? That looks like way more than 2.5 cm, but I'm an American what do I know about the metric system:)

I supinate my left foot as i grew older. I had no bite with my left skate. 9 years ago the people of The Hockey Store on Bloor st west near Dundas st Toronto contructed a 1/4 imch shim under left skate. Its hard to find knowledgeable people with the no how and experience

Are the screws you used countersunk? Can you feel the screwheads against your feet in the boot through the footbeds?

Dang that’s crazy. Do you make toe lifts for true skates? I’m thinking about getting some svh’s. But from what I’ve heard they pitch you a bit forward. Any experience with getting them to same pitch as vapors or jetspeeds? I’d prefer a lift, rather than profiling. Just so I don’t have to profile new steel. Thx

We can make lifts for whatever skate you have. Our lifts and wedges are all custom. You probably heard they are pitched forward, but unfortunately that information comes from the uninformed. True is a neutral boot, like Bauer and CCM. Bauer, unfortunately, tilts you backward with their blade design, so everything feels forward if you’re use to skating in them.

I just saw that in another one of your vids. Thx for responding though. Makes sense now.

You will probably find you like it when you get used to the difference. When I switched from Bauer Supremes to Vapors years ago, the change in pitch kept me from being back on my heels all the time. Now I am more naturally in a "ready" position.
