Why did you remove engine and new.timing.chain?

Hello i got my time belt change in some carage, after that a misfire came on cylinder 6. They may not replaced it well the question is misfire can happen in this case? I changed sparks and injector places nothing changed

This car engine is a chain engine, not a belt. Unless you mean they replace the drive belt. What you can do is swap that #6 coil to a different coil and see if the misfire jumps, if it does replace the coil.

How do I take out my timing chain cover from my Lexus is250? I unbolted everything it’s loose but somethings holding it on but I don’t want to pry it too much and bend it. Any thoughts?

Please what’s the marking on the crankshaft
@vangmotive70233 жыл бұрын
At 3:20 I show the timing marks. The crank will have a dot on the crank gear. The chain will be colored to set the main chain to the proper marks.

I have a low mileage IS250 no start, low compression all cylinder suspect jumped chain, is that common on this car?
@vangmotive7023 Жыл бұрын
The chain stretch causing cam/crank Correlation code. What is your reading on all cylinder for the compression test.
@Dave-qx3yz Жыл бұрын
@@vangmotive7023 chain stretch possible at only 70k miles? And good service records clean oil. Compression is 80-100psi all cylinders. No OBD codes at all NO crank/cam codes
@vangmotive7023 Жыл бұрын
@Dave because it's not running you can't check the cam/crank angle degree with a scan tool, you'll need to top dead the piston and put a Borscope down the spark plug hole and inspect the valve and see if it's open at top dead, check all of it and if they are open than it's your main chain. I believe this motor I did the chain on was under 100k miles.

I understand the engine has to be taken out of the car to replace the timing chain on a 2007 is250 because the oil pick up tube has to be unbolted from the timing chain cover and the only way to do that is to remove the oil pan and the only way to remove the oil pan is to remove the engine from the car... Can somebody verify this for me?
@vangmotive70233 жыл бұрын
you can remove the oil pan without pulling the motor out. The subframe and steering rack will need to be drop and have the engine supported with an engine brace, not recommend to do it at home unless you have a full on lift that I am using. Hopefully this answer your question.

@@ahmadalomani1722 when you replace the timing chain components and with the new chain on was the chain tight? If it is than you might have some something else causing that noise. Have you use a Stephoscope and pin point if the noise is coming from the top of the chain area or lower. Also try running the car without the drive belt for a moment and cancel out the alternator and ac compressor to see if the noise is still there.
