hey if your just replacing the waterpump, do you need a new tensioner to tighten the belt?

So I usually recommend replacing everything that involves the timing belt or water pump. Also, depending on the age of the tensioner, if it's original, then I would recommend replacing it, but you can compress the hydraulic tensioner and put a pin to hold it in places to reuse the old one but not recommend.. Hopefully this helps out.
