Awesome location and a beautiful sailplane. Thanks John.

I love how you control this rather large plane in a tight location. Please bless us with more of this kind of videos. It looks great how you control the Inside F5J.

Looks great. I like the method of trimming up to a certain limit (close to stalling). The glider will gain altitude whenever it finds lift (and my work with the elevator will be very small). I like to use a slider for a faster trim.(works like old analogue trim)
@confuseatronica6 ай бұрын
i gotta remember to move trims onto sliders or knobs. Digital trims seemed like a fine idea at first, but when im actually flying they're irritating, then once im all trimmed out and flying i never remember to do anything about it
@3057luis6 ай бұрын
@@confuseatronica I only do that in some planes, and only on the elevator. It requires special attention to the position of the slider before flying

If conditions are valuable and the trip is short, you could even think to place a couple of poles and a net in between ! Joking, but not so much after all ...😮

I live in Weston Super Mare John and seek some advice please. I have been flying a 2.6mt Radian XL for a couple of years and as I fly paragliders i use this on flat fields and my paraglider sites from coastal cliffs. I was going to purchase the Introduction FJ5 because I wanted to build a sailplane but now I am wondering if I should go straight for the Inside FJ5. What do you think? Or should I learn on the Introduction model then swap the wings for the Inside model if I feel I want to. Is the Inside model faster than the Introduction? I am quite happy flying in gentle cliff breezes when its too light for my paraglider of 30 years! Thx Pete.
@SlopeRCGliders4 ай бұрын
Hi there Pete. I’ve never flown an Introduction so I’m not sure how much it differs. But you are more than welcome to have a go flying my Inside model, to see if you like it.
@billy101004 ай бұрын
Thank you and I have now ordered the Introduction version:) But would be happy to see you fly yours next time your local to me.

Beautiful. John do you think an Introduction F5J would make a good slope model? Cheers Wayne.
@SlopeRCGliders6 ай бұрын
Hi there Wayne. This F5J model is certainly efficient on the slope in light winds. However, it’s probably not the strongest model if you get things wrong.

Some good slope lift at Uphill, WSM? The Inside is a great aircraft.

What a beautiful glider! It seems to fly a little more anxiously than Bird of Times or the oldtimer gliders. Do you think so too, or was it the wind?
@SlopeRCGliders6 ай бұрын
I think it was probably the slope. The wind there is definitely more turbulent than at the coast.
@oversitesurveys69396 ай бұрын
Where do you set the C of G for the Inside F5J, John? I built one of these during lockdown but have still not got around to flying it. Beautiful glider! Do you have the motor / battery set up as standard?
@SlopeRCGliders6 ай бұрын
I quite often buy, sell, or swap models with friends. This particular glider has gone through a few owners so I’m not sure of its original origin. However, I think the motor setup is all standard. Sorry I can’t be more help. I will have to go and measure the CG for you….

Have to ever considered trying fpv John?
@SlopeRCGliders6 ай бұрын
I did try flying PFV with a slope glider once. I found it really difficult as there was no way of telling if you were getting lift, how fast or how far away from the slope the glider was etc. it’s a lot easier with a power model.
@EnglishTurbines6 ай бұрын
@@SlopeRCGlidersTip, aim the FPV camera down, so you can see your groundspeed. It just takes practice. A GPS will give your groundspeed too ...A motoglider gives you a get out of jail....😏😏🇬🇧
