Hello, it would be interesting to have a visualization of the stick, but great keep it up, very interesting. ;)

I don't have a way of recording the sticks for real life, but I think at this level the movements are too small to be of any use. When I get to the higher levels, I might try and rig something up to record the sticks. Thanks for watching.

I feel much better in flight, less stressed and the order of executions is great!!! before that I was just crashing without understanding why, I need a solid base. Thank you very much for your work 😊

All your videos are very well done. Your style of teaching is easy to connect with. I can pull off most of these upright and forward, not to your level of precision though. Have been using this series as a practice aid for expanding my skill. Doing all of them upright backwards, inverted foward and backwards. Very challenging. Struggling with going from 1 orientation to another. After 20 minutes of inverted almost have to relearn upright again. Makes my old brain tired...lol Thank you Richard for taking the time to make these videos

No problem, glad they help. I know what you mean about relearning the original orientation :D A tired brain is good. It means you're working it. Just got to vary the exercises to keep it interesting.

Great program. As a beginner I'm enjoying the challenges you present here. It sure beats "aimlessly flying around". Thanks very much!

Thanks. I think a lot of people stall because they're unknowingly avoiding grey areas or weaknesses, and it just takes something small like this to start improving.

Was always waiting for RCHN proficiency levels. This will be a great series for all pilots. Keep them coming. Maybe you could go through F3C maneuvers after this series. Or frankly whatever you want. I think all these videos will be referenced for many years.

Thanks Sean. The F3C schedules are a good call. I'll give it some thought once I've finished this series. Maybe from a intermediate F3C pilot's perspective rather than an ace.

This video series is awesome, i've been messing around with RC Heli for a few years now, and just haven't really had the time to get into it properly.. These videos have given me confidence to try some more things, thanks Richard!

As a newbie to helis this series is awesome, one thing I am struggling with is the constant heading circle and obviously figure 8, I've learned how to hover in every direction and even inverted tail and nose in (not perfect still needs bit of work) but I just seem to not be able to get a smooth and consistent circle especially as the heli comes round, I sorta overshoot the circle a lot
@rchelicopter
@rchelicopter 10 ай бұрын
Ah, the constant heading circle is particularly tricky. I would try a few things. Try one at super slow but consistent speed, no stalling. Also break it up into 8 points around the circle you want to hit. If you overshoot, don't go round again. Reverse direction and focus just on that quarter.
@Zillawill
@Zillawill 10 ай бұрын
@@rchelicopter Thanks I'll give that a try, I think your idea of breaking into points will also help

Would you say you should do these in stabilization mode, or with that off? Aside from some of the more advanced stuff (U stall turns and loops). Thanks!
@rchelicopter
@rchelicopter 9 ай бұрын
You want to be doing this with stabilization off. There's nothing stopping you doing it with it on at first, but you can't get past the next levels with inverted and aerobatics.

Such a great and well explained video! I will do this training program now with my brand new OMP M4. Until now I was mainly flying around a lot with my smaller machines (M2 and M1) but I see that in a longterm view such exercises will give me as a pilot much, much more to build up new skills and not just do over and over again what I already am able to do!! Thanks a lot!!

nice to fly this pilot proficiency program. While advance 3d moves are more interesting in some way, they also pose and substantial investment for 1 move. This series and especially looking at the full proficiency program. It really looks quite interesting to set me some basic skill honing goals. Without being unpassable perse -to some level- . I would still need to ask how many jokers may you use ;-) Years ago I completed the 'from tail into 8's and funnels in 6 months. And while I lost some of it , achieving that goal paved the way for the 3D moves I fly today. I sometimes I feel I don't improve much anymore ( or more precise would be , I lost some sense of direction , flying without goals , I have no intention to get to pro level stuff. But flying a decent 3D move set is nice. I will attempt to use this series to work on the program and set some goals. => just climbing through the level and have some field member to witness if I did a move. And like said good basics help a long way to achieve even the most advanced moves.
@rchelicopter
@rchelicopter Жыл бұрын
Thanks. I find even with advanced 3D a pilot can have weaknesses, and sometimes it takes a program like this to figure out what they are. I like the idea of having a witness, but I found it was too much effort getting someone to watch each time. Let me know how you get on with that.

Just wondering how many wrecked helicopters required. I know people that can do 3d and crazy stuff but can't do a basic circuit or figure 8 Just straight up and down .A knowledge of flying fixed wing aircraft to me is a must before helicopters.
@rchelicopter
@rchelicopter Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about the fixed-wing. That brings it's own set of problems. The guys that do that here tend to have almost no rudder control.
@Lonsome1223
@Lonsome1223 Жыл бұрын
@@rchelicopterI've flown both and in the circuit they are similar at speed it's that basic knowledge that when flying towards you the stick moves required. It's difficult for a beginner to learn this but a lot harder for a helicopter that doesn't have wings .A good simulator would help.

(7:58) Side in landing? What the heck is that? Are you trying to land like an airplane. To land an RC heli, you hover over your spot then go straight down, Right? However, if you are doing an auto you will be "diving" down at a steep angle and then "flare", hover and drop. We don't have landing gears with wheels. You are trying to fly like a "conventional full scale" helicopter that is conserving every drop of fuel and a strict flight line. Is that the point of this F3N maneuver?
@rchelicopter
@rchelicopter 10 ай бұрын
It's defo more of a scale approach to landing, but I think it also prepares you for autorotations. The BMFA Helicopter B test in the UK requires you to do an 45 degree approach similar to this.
@trexinvert
@trexinvert 10 ай бұрын
@@rchelicopter I know. Just venting F3N has been around a long time. They just never updated to current rc heli capabilities, because they are funded by commercial heli entities. Inverted flying maneuvers would make them feel in adequate.

Albeit titled "Basic," this is still way too advanced. Some beginners even do not know how to make a coordinated turn.... Stick movement is required.
