A bit more about this project, for those interested:
Once upon a time, about 2 summers ago, I started this Wander Over Yonder animatic because I had a GRAND IDEA and I had been wanting to make one of these babies for a LONG, LONG TIME. I got a good chunk of it finished that summer - like, maybe 2/3 of it!
Then, life happened! Senior year of art school, followed by job interviews, a car crash, months of recovery, and then a new job… but I have finally, FINALLY finished this animatic. My baby.
Actually, it was originally going to span the whole song - and if you know how the song ends, you probably know it would have had quite a sad ending. Since I don’t intend to do anything else with it I may as well tell you how it would have ended! If you’re interested, I encourage you to listen to the rest of the song after reading, to see how it fits in with the lyrics ;) If you don’t care, you can skip to the part after the next line break (with the "------" in it x'D)
Initially, after where this video ends, Peepers would have had a flashback of himself and Hater having good times being evil together, and after said flashback, ultimately put his outstretched hand back down, not taking Hater’s offer to come up on stage and join him (which would symbolize not joining him in his newfound “good” attitude). Hater would get upset and run away, and Peepers would try to go after him, but see Wander and Sylvia going after him and stop, realizing he’s been spending more and more time with them… and realizing he’s too far gone. Hater gathers a few things to take with him in a near-to-tears state, and looks over his shoulder 1 last time, sadly, then looks back to Wander and Sylvia and nods. It would have ended on a shot of Peepers, watching out one of the two eye windows of the skull ship, while Wander, Sylvia and Hater flew away in an Orbble. And finally, the original summary sentence I would have put up top was “Hater is changing. Peepers is not.”
DESPITE ALL THAT, I do like where I ended up cutting it off - it is an ending in itself, and a much happier one in which you can assume Peepers did join Hater, with a little coaxing, after seeing how happy he’s become.
I love these characters a little bit too much can you tell .;P

I know there’s a lot of things that could have been better about this project - like using tone, and most of the beginning part where I used my REALLY TINY, crappy storyboards IN the actual video…. hahahaha. Sorry for the quality of that part but hopefully you can still tell what’s going on. x’D;;; If you CAN’T decipher what’s going on, don’t hesitate to ask me haha! I’d be super excited that you’re interested enough to want to know! 👍🏼✨
Anyhow, I hope you all enjoy this homage to one of my favorite cartoons out there; I put my blood sweat and tears into this bad boy. And y’know what? I’m proud of myself for sticking it out to finish this thing - and I think it turned out pretty decent for a first go! ;)

This. This should have been the beginning of the third season. Except that Peepers would join « an even bigger evil » while Hater would become a good guy, so it would fit more of the character if Peeps didn’t take Hater’s hand. Still, this follows the rules of the show and the characters’ spirit very well. Good job dude. If you can watch my comment.

So I’m not sure if you read my description on the video, but my initial idea for this animatic ended with Peepers not taking Hater’s hand (technically he doesn’t take it even in this version, just reaches for it 😂 But it’s assumed that he takes it). But my initial version was going to have a Peepers flashback right after that reach, where Hater is drifting away, and then Peepers ends up putting his hand back down and Hater gets upset and leaves the Skull Ship with Wander, leaving Peepers behind. However, I had been working on this for such a long time that the hand reach also seemed a good place to cut it, and was a happier ending anyway 😅 ANYWHO! Even so, I’d love to see someone making a story with Hater becoming a good guy and Peepers having to face him teaming up with Wander and Sylvia. you have shattered my heart congratulations SERIOUSLY THOUGH, this is absolutely wonderful, i've spent the last like 2 years fucking hyperfocused on peepers cause he means so much to me and i absolutely live for any content that's centered around peepers/peepers' emotions because he's such an interesting complex character and i have a bit of a personal bias with the way i view his emotions due to sort of attaching myself to him and projecting on him a lot throughout an abusive relationship, which also affects the way i see wander as a character. as i said earlier this is really good and its clear how much effort you put into this for such a good end product O: i've also associated this song with hater and peepers before but i've never actually interpreted it in this way and i think this viewpoint is super cool and interesting!

Хейтер расстроился и убежит, а Пиперс попытается пойти за ним, но увидит, как Вандер и Сильвия идут за ним и остановятся, понимая, что он проводит с ними все больше и больше времени... и понимая, что он зашел слишком далеко. Ненавистник собирает кое-что, чтобы взять с собой в состоянии, близком к слезам, и с грустью оглядывается через плечо в последний раз, затем оглядывается на Вандера и Сильвию и кивает. Это закончилось бы кадром, в котором Пиперс наблюдает за одним из двух глазных окон корабля-черепа, в то время как Бродяга, Сильвия и Хейтер улетают в Сфере. И, наконец, исходное краткое предложение, которое я бы поместил вверху, было «Ненавистник меняется.
