We had such a great time watching the Red Sox at Fenway Park, it might be the oldest ballpark but it's certainly got the most charm. Hopefully we did most things that a local would do at Fenway, I know we couldn't do everything on our 1st visit, is there anything we missed?
@billcook47683 ай бұрын
As a local fan I can say this: The thing you missed out on that many locals do is get obnoxiously drunk and act like jerks. They don’t call us Massholes for nothing.
@zeus67932 ай бұрын
@@billcook4768 It's really not like that much anymore. It's much more family oriented now. Yes, I'm 60...I remember well those days of beer sold in the seats and lots of drunken assholes. Hell I remember when they sold the beers in the green Styrofoam cups with the saran wrap over the top.

Regrettably Fenway is one of the most expensive parks in baseball. My buddies and I do a 3 game series each year, going to different parks. All the old ballparks were fit into neighborhoods or had confined space. They all had odd dimensions. Fun Fact: Fenway Park opened the day the HMS Titanic sank.
@Snoopydad29 күн бұрын
One thing I should add, Red Sox fans can sit cheek to jowl to Yankee fans, and there are almost no altercations or bloody lips. Very different from European Football where the supporters are often seated in different sections of the park.

Wow, I was at this game. This was Section 10 night. Section 10 is the biggest Red Sox podcast and that's why there were so many green Section 10 jerseys in the crowd. It was a giveaway and the podcast hosts were honored for all they do for the fanbase. This game was a fantastic one to go to. Glad you all enjoyed!

As a Red Sox fan for all my life (I'm 60), I can advise that if you have questions about how the game is played, the rules, or when or why....etc, at Fenway, you can usually ask anyone around you and we will give an answer that will tell you everything you need to know. We love to tell people about Fenway, and the Sox, and our history and idiosyncrasies. At one game this year, I happened to be sitting next to a guy from Portugal, who was on business in Boston, so decided to check out baseball. He knew nothing about the game, but I had a blast explaining everything to him and answering his questions. We had fun. It's cool to know that somewhere in Portugal, there is a dude with a video of me and my buddy belting out Sweet Caroline on a beautiful Fenway summer night. If it's not obvious, I love my Red Sox passionately.

As someone who was Born and Raised in the Boston area and still lives around there You were spot on about David Ortiz, he's single handedly one of if not the most iconic Boston Red Sox player of all time next to Babe Ruth you should look up some clips about him also he's got the infamous nickname "Big Papi".
@rooster2268Ай бұрын
Prudential is a definite for parking, it's a nice walk. David Ortiz was the heart and soul of the team from 2003-2016, and is a Hall of Fame star and super-personality. You should have charged 60 bucks for the Ortiz Funko. Maine-style lobster roll is the gold standard. It's served cold not awkwardly warm. If you want to know how well a ball in the air was hit, watch the fielder going after it, their reaction will tell you everything. Each player has a lot of their own bats, they choose the length and weight of them.

Fun to watch! Never seen your channel before but it came up in my recommended because I'm a big Red Sox fan. I can't really laugh at what you don't understand, especially since I taught myself all the rules of the game when I was younger, but it was still amusing watching you guys try to figure it out. There's just no other kind of baseball experience like a game at Fenway Park. Glad it was a good time and a win!

First time I went to Fenway was 35 odd years ago when I was a kid. Most recent was September 15 of this year. Such a magical place and I absolutely love the city. New York City is an hour closer to me but I rarely ever visit because Boston is so much better.

This and your baseball game in Seattle are two of my all time favorites. A few random comments: Big Papi isn’t wasn’t just a good player, he’s pretty a much an ambassador for the whole city. There’s a series of hilarious Saturday Night Live sketches about him too. Many Americans don’t understand the nuances of the game either, but talking about “points” absolutely makes you sound like “not a baseball fan.” No video of Sweet Caroline? And finally, are you guys Liverpool FC fans? That would make seeing Fenway extra cool.

If you really want to see Fenway come alive, come when they are having a winning season and are in a pennant race. Fenway is a great tourist attraction these days with a fun family atmosphere. But when the pennant is on the line, the blood gets hot and the intensity is dialed up. That place will rock!

Wow. I don't think you could get two so vastly different experiences than watching a game in Seattle and then watching a game at Fenway or Wrigley. A game at the former is like attending an NBA game with the constant visual and audio stimuli while the experience of attending a game at Fenway hasn't changed much in the last century. (Edit: It's been a few years since I've been to Fenway. It sounds like they've disappointingly added a few new sound effects.)

Hi Stacey and Kev. Great day at Fenway. To funny selling one of the dolls for $10. The best food is ballpark food. I definitely wouldn't pay $30+ for a lobster roll. Especially at a game. Restaurant maybe 😊 . You're right Stacey, getting pooped on was definitely good luck, nasty but good luck. Lol. Excellent idea parking a little bit away from the main garage. Only thing I would suggest if you do more ball parks is use the seats you bought for the first few innings then go enjoy other seats(empty) or standing row only to get a different view/experience. Baseball is unique in this way where every other sports fields are very cookie cutter.

Next year or at some point doesn't matter when you guys should watch The New York Yankees, The Los Angeles Dodgers to see Shohei Ohtani the greatest ball player alive play, and The Toronto Blue Jays the only MLB team in Canada! They are called umpires in baseball. Runs, not points. Baseball bats come in many different weights (by ounces), and lengths (by inches). Each player goes thru many bats a game as they can shatter or splinter because of the speed the ball is being pitched (@95mph), and speed it is being hit. Stadium food is notoriously expensive.
@OneCouplesAdventure3 ай бұрын
Thanks for explaining everything to us 👍

Fenway Park is the perfect venue for true sports fans who are sports purists. The stadium is about capped off as far as what they can add to it in the limited space available. The ownership group put a ton of money into the park for improvements and to build a winning team up until they bought Liverpool FC and the money started going there. But Fenway Park offers far fewer gimmicks than you’ll find in other parks that need to offer free stuff just to lure fans into the stands. Hence the purist comment. If you go to any other baseball park you’ll find far more promotions and gimmicks to attract attendance and distract from the game. If you appreciate history, you don’t need any of that stuff to love a game at Fenway.
@sambanks3189Ай бұрын
Couldn't agree more. ^This guy knows his Fenway Sports Group lore and you are exactly right. Hopefully this offseason is when FSG money returns to Fenway.
