So what did you guys think of the pizza? Would you choose the margherita or the potato one. Also has anyone else ever tried the 1st burger sandwich?

Long time New Haven family. Surprised Sally's did not offer traditional Foxon Park soda with your abeets. You two are Brits ? My mother was a Connecticut Yankee (Brit). My wife's family came to New Haven in 1639 from Dedham Essex U.K. . My fathers family from Sicily in 1898. My Dad spent time in UK before landing on Utah Beach Normandy June 6th 1944.

1st time viewer. You should have spent more time in Ct. There is Yale in New Haven, the 2 casinos, Mystic area including the village/aquarium/seaport, The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, The Coast Guard Museum and The Eagle, The Nautilus, Bradley Air Museum, Steamed cheeseburgers, Trolly Museum, USA's Oldest Amusement Park, UCONN Dairy Bar, Gillette Castle--The best time for the nature trails is in the fall when the leaves are turning.

Hi Stacey and Kev. When I have tea (normally I just drink coffee) I don't use anything other than some sugar. It's very cool they let you go to the back and see the pizza oven. I absolutely would love that med rare burger. Lol. I've not had a potato pizza but would definitely try it. I'm sure you were thirsty from the pizza. I hope you both enjoyed the milkshakes. As always thank you for taking us on your adventures. ❤❤

Hope you enjoyed the ride on the Merritt. Looked like no traffic for you. I had cousins come over from Ireland and we kept having to drive them up and down the Merritt Parkway because they liked the scenery so much. It was fall when all the colors popped on the trees. When you have a chance, watch the documentary Pizza:A Love Story for a New Haven pizza history lesson 🙂

My parents were born and raised in New Haven. I'm 50+ and never knew a time without Pepe's, Sally's, and Modern (and Ernie's when we didn't want to wait in line). I've been a pizza snob my whole life! I've never been to Louie's, though.

That Starbucks in Hamden is in a fairly brand new place. A couple of shops up is 'Jersy Mikes' sub shop which was the space for Starbucks previously. The map hadn't updated!!!

Hi Kevin and STACEY I think I would choose a potato pizza over a margarita because you can get a margarita pizza anywhere. I remember seeing Mark Wayne’s video about Lou’s lunch, so you are in good company because Mark Williams was there too. Why is Kevin so obsessed with getting a Slurpee. Just be like Stevie and enjoy an American Dr Pepper instead. Love your video Line looking forward to Albany. Sorry that should’ve said Mark WEINS, you know the ultimate food travel videographer.

The view from East Rock, and the drive to Albany is much more beautiful in September, and October during autumn. You used to be able to drive all the way to the top of East Rock (been a few years since i went there, i used to jog there every day when i was in college.) New Haven has an incredible night life, many night clubs, and bars, but some parts of the city are sketchy, and should be avoided, as the homeless is getting out of hand, and drugs, and crime are bad in those areas. but anyway I hope you guys had a great trip to Ct. come back again sometime, and visit our shoreline and Mystic(my area) and 2 of the best casinos in the world.

I turned on KZbin to watch Kathleen Madigan, highly recommend her by the way. She is a comedian. I saw your video for Albany, NY. Maybe because my daughter goes to the state university there. You saw more of Albany than I have yet to see and I am born and raised in New York State,. New York's Hudson Valley to be exact. I am loving your channel. I next watched the VT video. I go to an Aldi in Bennington, VT because the Aldi in VT sell wine where the ones in NY do not. It was cool to see you go from Albany to Bennington. I think I have passed the road the Mount Equinox on a trip to VT with my dad. Love that you tried New Haven abeetz. If you ever come back, I highly recommend going to Zuppardi's in West Haven. Their homemade sausage for their pizza is out of this world. Also go to Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, CT. It is one of my most favorite places in the world about 20 minutes from New Haven if traffic isn't bad. Look forward to watching more of your videos!

The old school way in CT it's pronounced "Ah-beetz" or "ahh-da-beetz"
@Nick-v7b3l2 ай бұрын
It's not "old school". Apizza is the Italian word for "pie". So when someone says "pizza pie", they're saying "pie pie". But in the dialect, we pronounce it "abeetz". Source: I'm born and raised a stone throw from downtown.

Louis' Lunch claim to the hamburger is BS, "hamburger steak sandwiches" have been advertised in U.S. newspapers from New York to Hawaii since at least the 1890s. White Castle traces the origin of the hamburger to Hamburg, Germany, with its invention by Otto Krause. Some have pointed to a recipe for "Hamburgh sausages" on toasted bread, published in The Art of Cookery Made Plain and Easy by Hannah Glasse in 1758.

I'm sure, like anything that claims to be the "1st" from many years ago, there is always going to be a debate on what is actually the original. We just take it with a pinch of salt. We just enjoyed the burger, and if they claim they are the 1st, then so be it. We certainly won't lose any sleep over it if they aren't. It's all just a bit of fun 😁

New York is a close 2nd to New Haven pizza; a very close 2nd. Frank Pepe's is my favorite New Haven pizza. Deep dish pizza (Chicago) is fine, but I prefer the New Haven or New York pizza.

I'd agree, but then we'd both be wrong. New Haven pizza is consistently rated the best in the country. But Modern (Also in New Haven) is the best pizza in CT.
