Wristlocks, that's aikido, but it's working on the ground and we all know aikido doesn't work especially on the ground. What's the difference, live see a video one day why a bjj wristlock works but a aikido one doesn't

Aikido wrist locks work...but they are most often presented irrationally in demos. They have a limited scope and purpose. The main difference is that JiuJitsu has a healthy competition platform that demonstrably prove that they are valid.

I can already stop reading when a comment starts with "Wristlocks, that's aikido..." it means you don't know the history, hence not the techniques, and only repeat what you saw in the interwebs.. get behind your research, study, read, train, and then come back here with proper insight.

@@lookat2006 repeating a cliche being sarcastic because the same locks are in jujitsu near enough but people always knock it saying it doesn't work - "cliche " , I've done aikido maybe I should have in detail said cliché

@@witcnshum - so it sounds like I did not get your sarcasm.. apologies then :-P

Literally all aikido wristlocks are the same ones in BJJ, Judo and all forms of submission grappling arts. The problem is Aikido teach and presented them in a way that doesn't work

Lol. Got 40 years in FMA this year. Bounced for 20. Ponders what your world is to say these things. If you can't pull off a wrist lock then his wrist is stronger then your technique. Either fix your technique or go for ripping a finger in the wrong direction. Bam... 1-3 moves the person should be leaving this World. Everything else is mercy. (Or you're surviving through dumb luck cause God likes you) In the ghettos at age 10 I was already getting into knife fights with other older boys for food. For territory. For no reason. To win is an easy thing if your life means nothing. Bam, bam, bam... You "won" and they are passing to the next adventure. If you can't think like that of course your wrist locks won't work. How could a mercy for another opponent work if taking his life is an empty threat that you'll never do? You're head might be in the wrong place if you're ever gonna survive a real threat and win with something besides dumb luck. Contemplate taking your opponent to the next world if your wrist lock doesn't work. Maybe you'll suddenly realize something useful that saves your life.
