Pros of DSP: 1. Offers the option to customize sound through the Moon Drop app, potentially enhancing the listening experience. 2. Provides versatility for users who prefer EQ adjustments to tailor sound to their preferences. 3. Can potentially improve overall sound quality and performance when utilized effectively. 4. Comes with accessories like a quality cable and pouch, enhancing the value proposition. 5. Suitable for Android users seeking EQ functionality without additional adapters. Cons of DSP: 1. Limited compatibility and functionality for iPhone users without additional adapters, adding extra cost and inconvenience. 2. May introduce delays and artifacts during playback, impacting the listening experience negatively. 3. Custom EQ settings saved in the DSP may not work with other devices, limiting its usability across different platforms. 4. Not necessarily advantageous for desktop setups compared to traditional analog cables, which may offer better sound quality and fewer issues. 5. Requires careful consideration of individual preferences and use cases to determine if the benefits outweigh the limitations.

How is the first con of DSP true if you still need an adapter with the 3.5mm version?
@christopherdsuza75315 ай бұрын
For those who use IEM for PC can't you just EQ using other software rather then rely on DSP setting of the cable? Just curious, still trying to figure out the ins and outs of DSP. I've never gotten one nor really played with EQ settings (don't trust myself enough to do so lol but I am interested in quality sound. Also can the DSP be used for PC or is it a mobile only kinda deal with the apps. Kinda silly that they terminate with a type c as the default. Should just use a 3.5mm and come with a dongle or something, or vice versa. Or perhaps a dongle to convert to a type C to a type A usb port.
@5786sagarАй бұрын
I initially shortlisted the Chu2Dsp, but I chose the Fiio JD1 instead because it has a dedicated DAC within the USB-C IEM itself. A dedicated audio DAC is essential for sound quality, as DSP chips are mainly for conversion, while a DAC significantly enhances audio performance. Many phones today lack a high-quality DAC, so having one built into the IEM is a big advantage, especially for sound enthusiasts. The build quality may be just okay, but the DAC, along with its hardware tuning and five preset options, makes it a great choice. The only drawback is that it doesn’t come with a carrying pouch. However, I found an affordable option-a small pouch from a brand called Audiocullar on Amazon for about $5. Now, I’m just waiting for the IEM to arrive.
@stunnx442118 күн бұрын
@@5786sagarcould you share an official reference where it is mentioned that Fiio JD1 comes with a DAC instead of DSP? If it truly comes with DAC I'll also prefer that one. Thanks!

I'll go with the DSPs, these will be my first IEMs and I don't plan to get a DAC because good ones are kinda expensive, plus the DSPs have a mic and I will be able to use them directly with my phone. If I like these I'll consider buying something more expensive in the future along with a DAC to get a full experience
