For your desk you should sand it keep the top a natural wood tone and paint the legs it either a dusty pink or the green to match your wall and get rid of the metal x's on the sides and replace them with some rattan and replace the black metal hardware with something wood, more natural looking to match the top of the desk ❤

My house that I grew up in was a very stricked my mum was a nurse so everything was immaculate. When my mum was at work I had to make all the beds clean the bathroom and the toilet room my sister had to do downstairs.we only done this during school holidays. But we still had to help xx

I am Colombian, growing up my house was very tidy. Meals at the table. We made our beds before school but mom cleaned thoroughly the rest of the house. Latina moms love to do everything lol. I am raising my kids doing chores and helping me. We are a large family so I take as much help as I can. But I cannot help to go over everything lol. The latina in me jumps up

First of all, hello👋🏻, I am a senior university student living in Turkey and I am with my family due to online education. The kitchen and the rest of the house look amazing. Just one thing caught my attention. In Turkey, we, at least those I know, tidy up all over the house like you do, vacuum the carpets and parquet, then dust and wipe the floors last. But of course, this can be different for everyone. For example, our bathrooms have a water drain on the floors, and while we are cleaning the bathroom, we clean everything from top to bottom by foaming and rinsing. Doing this cleaning is incredibly satisfying.👌🏻😍 Thank you to those who read this article to the end. 🙏🏻🙏🏻Even though it's late where I live, you motivated me Amanda, thank you too🤗💕

Our house was somewhere in the middle... Mom was super chill and Dad was in the military and liked the house to be neat and tidy all the time. When my Dad passed away when I was 13, I picked up the responsibility of cleaning the house and as an adult I am so grateful to have cleaned a lot as a kid because it makes it feel like a normal part of daily life to clean a little each day. Plus, it makes me think of my Dad which is a special way to remember him

Your cats are the cutest! The orange tabby looks a little mischievious! My daughter had a orange tabby and she named him "Bart" after Bart Simpson. He fit the name perfectly. The black cats are always very loving and cuddly but love to jump and climb on everything. (Athletic). I have one tuxedo cat and she is 17 years old in July, and a siamese outdoor cat. At one time I had 5 cats (down to two) but every cat has been born from stray cats in our backyard! and lived long lives here...I never had cats growing up I guess time made up for it!...LOL... Love your renovations in your home!

Have you ever considered a Lovesac couch? You can configure them into whatever shape you want and have the option to buy additional pieces if you want two separate couches like you have now or you can combine them all to get a sectional. The covers are also machine washable which is a lifesaver and I believe they just came out with a sheet set so you can configure the pieces into a bed if needed. I have had mine for a few years now and absolutely love it! They are pricy, but definitely a worthwhile investment, especially for a home with kids and pets! :) Also, from a design perspective, it is nice to be able to change the look of the space by purchasing new covers instead of an entirely new couch.

Hi Amanda, I was raised in a very organized home. We always had to keep things picked up and chores done before we could do anything else. I think your desk would be pretty either painted that green you painted the island or pick a color of you rug and then paint all the metal gold.

Another suggestion for the items thst collect in your office from your car. You can put baskets in your car. When you go shopping for different things, you can sort them out in the basket after you park your car before you go into the house. Food goes in and of course put away first thing, but the rest of the items could be put on a shelf in the garage and take each basket in every time you either come in from outside or after you have rested from all the running around you can bring in a basket at a time and put things where they belong.

But I do not want my kids to grow up feeling the pressure to be super tidy at all times. Thanks for the great motivation, I absolutely love all of your content.

I so enjoyed the video today. Love your motivation and wanted to cry towards the end when the guys showed up for the kitchen. Cleansing is a job that seems never to be done because I know I can clean and less than 10 minutes it looks like I haven't touched it. Such is life. I can definitely see why you need to split it up. Downstairs one day and upstairs another. You mentioned your office desk today have you thought about painting it? I have always found whatever is located near the front door tends to be the catch all center maybe if that habit can be broken. Take packages to the area where the backpacks are and see if that helps. Have a basket for upstair items and see if this gets them there. My mother always had us help clean on Saturday mornings and we all helped. That way by 1:00 we could have the rest of the day to ourselves. We straighten out rooms, gathered our laundry, and tended to our beds. We would take turns with the rest of the house so we could help mom and she so appreciated it. One thing I did notice while you were cleaning the planets. Make sure you give them the attention they need. With the dust from the make overs they need some TLC. Amanda you do a wonderful job keeping your home running smooth and looking great even when you say it's a mess. I have always said a home needs to feel like it's lived in and not a picture in a magazine. I love the little peek of the kitchen can't wait for the big reveal. Enjoy your week and I am looking forward to the recipes next time. P.S. I am so enjoying my tumbler I do hope everyone got one. My ice last almost 24 hours in it. Love Love it. Wow everything look so good and the cupboards looks great, so does the island. I think you should do the same for your kitchen table do the top part like the top of the chairs and the base forever green fog or that dark colour like the legs of the chairs then your kitchen will match everything, maybe do that project while you do your last bathroom project this way kitchen is all done ☺️ Great work on everything so far 🎉

I wasn't sure if you haven't looked into what is going on with your rug, but I can tell you it is probably the glue to the rug from the backing is drying out and it creates the white powder you see. It is something that normally happens and probably because you are in a dry climate. I hope that helps. Loving the motivation!! I cannot wait to see the completed kitchen!!!! I wanted to share something with you about the white color under the rug. Something similar happened at my nieces house. Initially, they really had no clue as to what is was and just cleaned the floor. It happened again and after careful examination they discovered it was mold. A dehumidifier kept the mold at bay but after a professional inspection they discovered a water leak behind the wall.

I have the same sink! It only took me 2 months to decide on it when we were remodeling our kitchen😂 It's still my favorite part of my kitchen, 3 years later. The grate in the bottom is something I don't think I will ever be able to go without again❤

Have you considered converting a cabinet to a pull-out garbage drawer? I did a full size next to my dishwasher and don't know how I lived without it. Converted the door with a system off the shelf from Lowes.

Hey Amanda ! Check your carpet underneath and see what material it is made of ! I had the same problem with my kitchen rug and I came up to the conclusion that it was some kind of plastic that was rotten because of the water (it was turning like a white powder) ! Yes I had to wash it sometimes hehe ! So every time I vacuumed it I had to do it both sides yeah I know pain in the ... but the other solution was to get rid of it and buy another one ! Paused to say - I think the black would look nice on your vanity stool! It's small enough that I think it would look perfect with the hardware & pop against the cabinets ...I think it would just look right! Also, another thought to add to painting the wood part black would be to cover the seat cushion w.some different fabric? if that's even possible! ❣ Ok - now back to the video tape - lol!!
