August 2024 went to Parrilla "La Pena" (sorry no enye on my keyboard), we found it extremely expensive. Ordered one tenderloin between my husband and I, plus a small salad with a half portion of French fries, one bottle of water the bill was 60 dollars!! Argentina is not cheap anymore folks.

Nice video! The music you chose for the Congress tour is moving and most appropriate.I agree with Daniel.How is it possible for a member of Congress not to work hard and properly and honestly! As for the meals, you eat a lot guys! Samuel almost ate a cow😄Muy linda familia y la ternura de Audrey hacia su padre es muy agradable de ver.Felicitados, familia!

Harriet and I took a similar tour years back visiting cousins who live In Buenos Aires. The city is truly a mecca for great food. We plan to return to the city very soon. What recommendations would you suggest for restaurants : breakfast, Lunch and dinner? Hope things are coming along with your property . Be Well dear friends ! Harriet, Jim and Yuki

That's exciting that you might be revisiting Buenos Aires soon! As for our restaurant recommendations, we have a few favourites that we always like to revisit. Breakfast: Petit Colón or La Biela. Lunch: any of the famous pizzerias along Avenida Corrientes (Güerrin, Banchero, Los Inmortales) or if not, El Cuartito. Dinner: Parrilla Peña for BBQ is a must! 😊

Hi Sam, Audrey and dad. So nice to see you guys back in Buenos Aires. I have been watching your old videos lately and pleasantly surprised of this new addition. Thank you for your wonderful video. You are my best foodies on KZbin.😊😊 Happy Canada day from Yellowknife Northwest Territories 🇨🇦

I guess I could say my interest in Argentina predates my discovery of Sam and Audrey's KZbin channel, but this kind of videos prompted me to read Felix Luna's book "A Short History of the Argentinians" and learn a bit more about Argentina's political and social past. Having read that one, I started reading one of the cornerstones of Argentine literature: Jose Hernandez' epic poem "Martin Fierro". I like poetry, so I hope I will like this Argentine classic as well. Might share my impressions on the Spanish channel after I read it :)
@samuelandaudrey5 ай бұрын
Ahhh, Martin Fierro! I started reading that last summer. Are you reading it in Spanish or is there an English translation?! It's written in old, broken Spanish from the 1800s that mimics the way a gaucho would have spoken...which I imagine would be very hard to translate into other languages!
@MirkoIlić-c7u5 ай бұрын
The book I bought last week is a 1975 Serbian translation (this is a reedition published by a Serbian publishing company and the Embassy of Argentina) but I have downloaded the Spanish original and an English translation as well, because I want to compare them. Unfortunately, my Spanish is not as good as my English, but I have been able to read some parts of the poem in Spanish so far. When there are obstacles I can't overcome, I turn to the Serbian edition :)

Your Dad made some important observations about architecture changes over time and about how politicians in government don't seem to take their supposed duty to do what we are told they do which is to represent us and work for us seriously enough. The world powers that shouldn't be, behind the scenes ( many of them meet in DAVOS Switzerland every year) use the "elected" politicians to do their evil will by creating and passing laws that are more and more restrictive to the general public - under the guise of "keeping them (us) safe" (which governments in free countries were never supposed to do). Politicians re-election campaigns and compensation is paid for by organizations set up by the world rulers. So if they want to be re-elected, they need to do their bidding and ignore what is best for their constituents (the voting public). These same world rulers are the ones that pay for museums and their exhibits, education curriculum and much more - all with a view to shaping our belief system to control us. They write the history books which are filled with a lot of half truths including the reasons for all the wars over the years. There are many historian/researchers out there with channels devoted to pointing out how the world rulers intentionally destroy significant buildings and landmarks and build over them so that people won't remember their past. Some think as frequently as every 200-300 years history is re-written and our infrastructure is replaced. WE've all seen how the media, which is the mouth piece of the government lies. Now everyone should know to take anything the mainstream media says with a grain of salt.

May I ask what time was the English tour of Congress you took? I have also wanted to do this for a long time, but it's very confusing to try to figure out the schedule.
@samuelandaudrey5 ай бұрын
We took the 12:00 tour, but they also offer one at 17:00. I would suggest going on the Senate website (www.senado.gob.ar/). On the homepage, scroll down to 'Agenda de Actividades' and check if they have a 'Visita guiada al Palacio Legislativo'. That's one way to confirm if the tour is happening that day or not. It can run Monday to Friday, but it often doesn't when the government is in session.
