To answer your question at the beginning... That campsite very much reminds me of areas around where I grew up, in the mountains of East Tennessee. You can find a lot of similar looking locations in all of the Great Smoky Mountains.

Thanks, Eric. Long time follower, rare commenter. Your videos are excellent and it's obvious you put a lot of thought and work into them. The more subscribers you have, the more successful you've become and as a result, the more detractors you'll have. So all aboard the train to troll fuckitville because there's just too many of us who enjoy and appreciate all your work. It's been great to follow your progress as you've becomes increasingly successful. Many thanks and best wishes from the very cold, very remote reaches of the planet.

I love that Lyre campground. My in laws lived up in Everett and drove us out to the La Push area so I could see the Pacific ocean. We stopped off at, to my opinion, the most beautiful area I have ever seen, Lake Crescent. I love it here, I live on an island in Florida, but the Pacific Northwest has its own beauty that is undeniable!

Western WA is unique, no place like it, even western Oregon is very different and the cascades in Oregon are different too. We have port orford cedar down here on the OR coast but they don't get big like the western red cedar. Then there is "the mountain" that damn mountain still shows up in my dreams and I haven't seen it in 16 years. Two seasons, magical and raining, either one can happen in any of the normal seasons.

I'm in Central Florida. You asked what others think about a place like Lyre River. I think it's awesome! No moss hanging off the trees, deep and lushious greens, not a single palmetto in sight and I bet there aren't any gators either - what more could one ask for? Hoping to make it up there one of these days.

Nothing like family/friends drama to heal homesickness! I think you went to WA much too soon. Wish you'd go over the Cascades via the North Cascade Highway east of Mt. Vernon. The Skagit River Valley is full of eagles, and you go over two mountain passes that are incredibly beautiful. You'd enjoy Winthrop, too. If you drop down to Chelan, I've got a friend with an apple orchard where you could boon dock. Take the Lady of the Lake boat up to Stehekin, Then you can head south via Ellensburg, Yakima, and into Eastern Oregon. Just a thought.
