As someone who spent years on the Ford installing equipment during its construction, it's nice to see someone as positive as you get to see it. When you are on it every day, every aspect of the ship kind of loses its "cool" factor. So, hearing your take on the US Navy is a breath of fresh air. Thank you.

You're very fortunate to partake in this voyage! I had a grand uncle on my dads side who was a fighter pilot in the Pacific theatre of WW2. He was aboard the USS Wasp and he flew missions in places like Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was fortunate enough to survive the war, but he was killed in a training accident flying an F4U Corsair just two years later at the old Willow Grove Naval Air Station just outside of Philadelphia. So it goes without saying that I never had the chance to meet him. He was only 24 years old at the time of his death. I know you recently recovered from two strokes. I've recovered from a brain hemorrhage 21 years ago. Like you, we're both very lucky to be alive, unlike lots of men who fought for our country. So don't EVER forget those, living and past, who provided us with the freedoms we enjoy today! It's what God expects of us!

I spent two years aboard the aircraft carrier USS BON HOMME RICHARD CVA-31. It's the only carrier to participate in all three wars; World War II, Korea and Vietnam. I also served a year at the Naval Support Activity Da Nang in S. Vietnam in 1969. I am elated that today Veterans are treated like the heros that they are. Vietnam Vets didn’t get that appreciation when we returned. Thank you again for honoring our U. S. Navy and all service personnel around the world. You are a great American!!

America is meddling in South China sea while China and Asean countries are having talks to achieve win win solution to the border dispute. America’s 11 aircraft carriers are getting old and replacement are slow and costly, given that America has much smaller ship building capacity n burgeoning budget deficits ( can’t just print dollars all the time.) On the other hand China’s military budget is far lesser in comparison to their GDP, also with cheaper labour cost a dollar in china can go a long way. it means China can keep on building up their aircraft carriers n all other military equipments leisurely.

The War in Iraq was not necessary, Saddam was a dictator but he had effectively prevented Al queda from setting up shop in Iraq. With Saddam gone the country was in disarray, ex military men join Al Queda n expanded to Syria, then part of al queda splintered into Isis as we hv all known. The Western engineered Arab spring didn’t end well, many died for nothing. Now it’s Ukraine turn to suffer for the color revolution launched in 2014.

Thanks again for the 2nd price in a day😂😂. I used to think America is a benign power that save the world. Well I still think that it used to be during the ww2 fighting against Hitler and aggressive Japan that invaded other countries. However today it has changed, the people are still as nice and friendly as ever, however not the politicians who are not really striving for mankind, well not even for America their country . They are fighting for their party which in turn ensure their political careers. Sometimes They know well what they are doing are not exactly in the best interest of their country. The division in America now is eroding the country. However the masses are still believing in Democracy and freedom, not knowing the intrinsic value of democracy in other countries, not knowing that one size does not fit all. You just can’t shove your values down people’s throats, people just don’t like that. Americans in general have not learned their lessons in the Middle East n elsewhere, now tragedy is forming in far Eastern Asia. Hopefully not another Ukraine, a proxy war. Enjoy your fishing while thinking about my comments, Robert.😃

Rob, welcome to my world. Spent over 19 years in Naval aviation on various platforms. From ships company to squadrons. I’ve flown in countless COD’s, MH-53’s, H-60’s, and LCAC’s. There’s nothing like being on the flight deck in between two Hornets on the cats at full power. The closest thing I can compare it to is standing next to a Top Fuel or Funny car burning nitromethane and making 12,000hp each and it’s still not as exciting. The strangest part for me is it’s coming to an end. January 2024 I’ll be retired and will probably never do anything else in aviation. It’s hard to admit it but it will give me the chance to make up for all the time in the outdoors I’ve missed with friends and family.

Retired sailor here. Im sorry you spent your time on a carrier. Next time you should go to an amphibious ship and hang out with deck dept. You will see the coolest stuff the navy has to offer. Well deck operations, Replenishment at sea, Small boat operations, Anchoring, and best of all the general shenanigans we folks in Deck Department get into.

My Great Uncle commanded an aircraft carrier. His last command was at Belle Chase Naval Base outside of New Orleans. He told me landing on a carrier is like landing on a postage stamp and even worse when the seas were rough.

Robert I had an opportunity in the nineties to go out and be on the USS Teddy Roosevelt, Mine was called a tiger cruise we're a male member of the family could go out with a male member of the navy we were on board 4 days. We went from Fort Lauderdale to Norfolk Virginia. We were on the flight deck And we were watching the F 18's at the time, They did bomb drops. It was so amazing And the food was amazing we Got to eat in the captain's mess hall because my brother 😋 was E9 master chief. I guess you could call that my hiatus in life because I've never done anything more exciting than that. Welll God-bless you and keep the videos coming and I'll keep watching. Thank you for everything you do.

Best was going with my youngest brother and his boy scout group to the USS Massachusetts and spending the night on the Ship. Seeing the in and outs of Submarines and the USS Massachusetts was amazing. Exploring the ships and accidently sneaking to parts of the ships that were off limits was great. My brothers group seen some of the ships that have only been seen by navy personnel!
