That one shrimp was a spearing mantis shrimp, there are not the ones with the clubs but instead they have spears that pierce and grab prey.

Oh Cool!
@nova02412 жыл бұрын
Agreed; it's the right size, and you can see its extended spear arm. I'm not sure if they're strong enough to hurt you like regular clubbing mantis shrimp, but it was a good idea to be careful

You can still kill the stone crab that way. You want to try to make the crab “drop” it’s claw by either sticking its other claw in between the knuckles or use a knife.
@marcuslarwa90982 жыл бұрын
The first one most definitely wasn’t clean you can see the actual meat he pulled out from the body. That’s a dead crab for sure.

Man, over the years that I lived in Florida (I live in Pittsburgh now) I caught some seriously nice fish. Fishing in Tampa Bay and the Gulf I've caught some nice snapper, various species of shark, crab, huge rays, snook, redfish, big sheepshead, Spanish mackerel, sailfish, Florida marlin, dolphin (Mahi Mahi), 6' tarpon, red grouper, huge cobia, I mean, it was ALWAYS something fun to fight. I even caught BIG tuna, huge barracuda, and I caught a 59.5" 38 lb Mahi Mahi in St Thomas, USVI.

Oh my God I'm so ready for some shrimp and crab. All I hear right now though is snow and ice falling I'm in Ontario Oregon right next to payette Idaho I'm sure you know where that is. And it's a few days before Christmas 2022. So watching your videos of where it's warm and when it was warm really warms me up and I can't wait to get out there and put all the stuff on my bucket list crossed off thanks again another great video I can't wait to watch more it'd be great to be able to connect with you and maybe do some fishing and catching Cooks anyways God bless you and your family let's get to another video of yours. Now that you have moved I find that I get more knowledge and entertainment from your channel. sad to say I don't really get the entertainment value from your brothers channel anymore, just not the same. From one fellow running back to another. keep up the good work and I hope you have much success. 👍 you

I work in the food delivery industry and depending on where ur at in the country (the more inland the more expensive) the crab alone could be a $30 plate ad the shrimp, sheep's head and redfish plus assuming 2 sides (salad & baked potato) and a drink at a restaurant that's a $70 plate in a lot of parts of the country

I have another question for you, what type of line do you use when you're fishing inshore or brackish water? Monofilament, fluorocarbon, or braid? I haven't switched any of my combos over to braid yet, but I've been down in Florida for about 5 years and only have fished for about one to two of them. I'm using monofilament, but it's driving me crazy pretty much of the time for obvious reasons. Everyone says to switch to braid if you're doing anything with salt water for sure, sometimes they do it for bass, I don't know I've never done it and I don't really think that I have any braid ready reels for one thing. Just curious about what you're using?

Braid is def my favorite lessbacklashes more power and if you get green color you might not need leader
