Great video as usual. Only one comment: you changed the position of the camera when you are playing and from the side the perspective is not so clear as when you had the camera above you. For a beginner that makes a big difference trying to figure out where the sticks are going.

Great lesson Gabe! This is sort of a random question but when your not around your drums do you do anything to to keep your microphones in shape? Once again, a pretty random question but I just bought 3 Digital Reference instrument microphones along with cables and mic stands and I wanna make sure they last. I've heard that some audio engineers put plastic bags over their mics when they aren't using them and I've talked to some other drummers and heard that they completely take apart the mics and put them in a bag to protect them. Anyways, thanks in advance and if you have any other tricks to recording drums please let me know.
@DrumBeatsOnline8 жыл бұрын
Hey Marshal, honestly I always just leave the mics out. But I'm definitely no expert on this topic! I haven't had any issues with them by leaving them out, but I don't want to advise you to do anything that will mess up your microphones.

I've noticed that you have an evans black snare batter head and I was wondering what that is. does it help with attack?
@DrumBeatsOnline8 жыл бұрын
Its an Evans black Hydraulic head. I wouldn't necessarily say it helps with attack. I'm using a 14x6.5 ludwig supraphonic.
