2 Fast and well built EMCH Lifts in Berne, Switzerland

This group of lifts is situated in a clinical building in Berne. They were installed upon construction of the building in 1991. Originally these lifts were equipped with Findili logic and an RST phase-cutting drive. In 2011, both lifts were modernised and got new MPK400 controllers and RST IMD drives. This is a very common selection of components for Emch. The DCP 4 communication protocol between the drive and the logic makes fully intelligent direct levelling possible.
This installation here stands out through the very high build quality of Emch's older installations. The lift cars both have have solid chassis and use rollers instead of gliders. They are generally built very well. The counterweights too are equipped with rollers, which is not seen very often in such low-rise applications.

Incredible, these elevators are beautiful. When I see how lifts were made in the 90's, seeing your video with beautiful machines and also placed on large solid concrete bases and when I see today's lifts which are very often with stops under paving and extremely reduced space there is not to say the elevators were clearly better before. Very nice video :D

Thank you very much! These lifts here indeed are a prime example of how something is built properly. Sadly, nowadays this is basically only found in new high-rise lifts (like 100m of rise and more) and everything smaller is just not that great anymore. This leads to things like Schindler installing cheap Sassi machines instead of something more solid that also would last longer. The Schindler W163/W200/W250 were great machines, solid construction, heavy duty, long lasting. Sadly they discontinued these a few years ago.

@@TheLiftDragon Yes, you are telling the truth, I was "lucky" to be able to dismantle a Schindler elevator a few years ago with my work and I took over the machine, a W163 so that it would not be scrapped.

1.6 m/s halt. Sehr schnell für das niedrige Gebäude, aber ich habe auch schon noch schnelleres gefahren und gefilmt. Da kommt auch bald was.

Interessante Anlagen! Hydra Plus Türantrieb mit Selcom hab ich bis jetzt noch garnicht gesehen sowie eine RST FRC mit dem riesigem Schneckenlüfter. Macht aber auch sinn, wenn die voll flott Los und Einfahren ;)

Emch mag die Hydra Plus sehr, die hsben die sehr oft verbaut. Die RST braucht schon ordentlich Kühlung, die Anlage geht mächtig ab. Tagsüber sind die Lifte nämlich schon recht busy.
