We can't blame foreigners for having a bad thought about the food here, it's the Filipinos fault of how they introduce Filipino foods, they tend to prank or feed them first with exotic delicacies which is far from what the foreigners used to eat.

It is expected that the foreigner won't just like some of our food at their initial take because we eat differently and we serve differently our food, but then if the foreigner gets used to and learn how to eat Pinoy food, that is the time that they'll enjoy it and will start to salivate and look for it! 😋😋😋

Alex, sup. Gotta say, the Filipino national dish has to be the "Pancit". It's uniquely Filipino in it's taste, ingredients and every island has its version of it somewhere. Adobo chicken probably second. However, if your talking just Cebu area, I would say the "LECHON" by far, followed by the "Humba".

I have lived in the philippines for quite a while now. The problem is not the food - its the people behind them. Take meat for instance. In most restaurants I have been to they serve ridiculously chewy meat to the point I had to ask them to provide a kitchen knife in order to cut it. When they serve pork they cut the meat into pieces with the bones inside, and I don't know what they feed the pigs, because in the individual pieces betweeen 25-100% are pure fat. When people grill meat they tend to grill the meat into carbon cookies - nice to use in a future fireplace, not so nice to eat. I have spent great amount of effort into teaching my wife how to properly cook the meat - skip the vinegar, separate the fat, cut the meat from the bones instead of through the bones, dont overcook etc and despite 50% of my advices being ignored, it is already way better than what I would find in any restaurant here. Also, one thing most restaurants seem to get right are the chicken - you can buy fried KFC-style fried chicken from jollibee or any street food seller and be sure that the taste wont dissappoint. There are also restaurants doing a great job at cooking chicken with the proper seasoning.

Hi Alex. Chicken sisig... hmmm looked pretty good. Did you eat all of that? It looked big! Hopefully that is made from the normal chicken parts that we are used to eating 😝. The banana and peanuts looked good. Wow! Those Filipinas and Filipino were super friendly and so happy joking a lot. So different from ultra-conservative Japan.

Heyoo!! Glad ypu enjoyed the video. Yes, very friendly here Uh oh. I didn't think of the chicken parts 😳 Yes, I ate about 90% of it. I could have eaten all, but I planned to eat more that day for the video 😅

hahahaha for sure it's a common pieces of a chicken you usually eat, sisig should be all meat so what else do you think can be part of it that you dont eat from chicken? feather? HAHAHA but anyway if it's a authentic Pampanga's sisig they were using chicken liver for the taste

@@MarwellStaAna Haha... good point! I just heard pork sisig uses parts like the feet, ears, lips, nose, tail, etc. 😝 (is that true?), so us Canadians aren’t used to eating those parts. For the chicken, the only parts we don’t eat are the feet and of course the head and feathers lol 😂, but we eat everything else including the legs, thighs, wings and breast. The chicken liver is very good and very healthy to eat! 👍. Thanks for your comments.
