Black interior paint in strategic places and a few hundred plants would launch this project to another level. . Without it feels unfinished, but still interesting.

Brilliant man, working with transformative ideas about structure, design and habitation. Very inspiring. Yes, I would also fill the greenhouses with plants, but the main thing for him is to demonstrate a liveable structure built inexpensively with utilitarian components. He succeeded.

I LOVE the innovation. The new fresh ideas; the unconventional items used in an unconventional way! What makes houses so expensive is why they are so boring! Limited budgets and limited thinking WITHIN the box. Outside the box, sky's the limit! This is SO innovative and fresh, I like EVERYTHING about it! Even the trains, and industrial setting. Brilliant job! Thanks for sharing this love of creation.

Wonderful, I worked for a commercial Bulb Farm and Greenhouse in the Pacific NorthWest. They had a Greenhouse extended in the T position from the office-warehouse. In it was a elevated potted garden, a koi pond, which transitioned in the summer with opened windows. We worked in large greenhouses, and this is what I imagine a home in a greenhouse, add the garden, you may enjoy it.

This is now one of my favorite vids. He is an original thinker and that is worth everything. It makes me feel the wonder of imagination and the value of being able to think differently. I especially love the greenhouse floor as seen from the drone, just fantastic images. The negative comments are a prime example of our general inability to not think unconventionally. That is why housing hasn't changed since forever; most builders and most people are stuck mentally in a bygone era. You guys are the BEST! Thank you. Michel Pariseau

Wow, affordable for sure. Especially given all the space! I need to have natural earth based materials in my home - wood, stone, natural plasters, cobb, etc. so this esthetic doesn't appeal to me. However, I LOVE the idea of an attached greenhouse where the entire roof can be opened up like that for venting or closed in cold weather and allowed to heat up to supplement the heat of the house. It's brilliant! Gosh, where do you find all these amazing places?!

Yup, Ile-de-France climate is nearly perfect for living long stretches in an industrial greenhouse. I love the possibilities opening with a wide space heated by the sun most of the year. It's pretty much ideal for Europe north of the alps. And the climate improvement will stretch the months this will be usable even further. I'd subsume only December to February it's not enough sun to become warm enough in those greenhouses.

This idea, very similar to the Swedish family who’s home was featured on this channel definitely have a great idea. The large greenhouses keep the cold and the heat out. Love that this exists and that Patrick is experimenting with materials and convention. I don't think i could live comfortably with such a lack of natural materials, stone, wood etc though. All that linoleum and plastic on the interior... The idea of buffer zones to constrain temperature fluctuation on both sides of the internal structure is great. Would love to see some food being grown in those huge spaces, could have citrus fruit and fresh veggies almost year round!

I grew up in a house located in a very similar setting, the railroad, highly circulated, was just in front of the houses. There were like 90 trains passing within 24 hours. It was not really as noisy as it might seem because the passing of the trains was usually swift, almost unnoticeable. I hated it personally, I remember wishing for the railroad to be removed. Now, approaching old age, I think I might retire there, although I have mixed feelings for now.

There is something quite appealing about this place and I can't put my finger on it. I just know I really like it! I'd definitely want to see how comfortable it is in the middle of summer and middle of winter, since it's different from the typical house design. Id' want to test the insulation of the place. If it's comfy year round then I want something like this, but a smaller version. I like how it's not the typical stick construction. I don't know if there even is wood used in any of the walls.

Great concept. I don't find the house too appealing, personally, but he made great points: 10:28 "...like rivets... It's how to turn an error into something interesting." 16:36 "These days there's no place for experimentation." 22:40 "A house is the dream of each person. It's the base of personal construction." If that train derails, it could take out his family. I would never live off of railroad tracks. Very interesting house, though. Thanks!

That's really cool - but it costs a lot of money to convert shipping containers. They're generally a bad idea for housing anywhere unless you have the budget to convert them or buy them already converted (which it looks like he did here).
