I want one of these greenhouse homes sooooo much. Beautiful. I agree it may be worth refilming this and film a room without swinging around to a whole bunch of closeups. A good example to emulate would be Kirsten Dirksen, who also recently filmed another greenhouse home. Maybe set the camera up in an area on a tripod and then you can walk around and show the features, or film a room and narrate later.

Any issue with fruit/green flies, or other bugs in the house? Buzzing around my half dozen plants in the house. Unsure how living in a greenhouse copes with insects?
@liveinagreenhouse7 ай бұрын
I own the only greenhouse enclosed tiny home in the US. Way less flies and mosquitoes inside my house inside the greenhouse than outside. There are insects inside the greenhouse and I have the house doors and windows open most of the year so there are insects inside the house. But not so bad that I need screens.
@chrizzlybearlol6 ай бұрын
You have to create an ecosystem. If you got flys that annoy you need stuff that eats them. Or change the environment that they don’t thrive. I doubt you can or want this to be sterile.

There is no mass to collect and release solar heat that I can see, meaning that it will often be too hot or too cold inside. The kitchen is surprisingly dark and unwelcoming considering it is literally a glass house. I also wonder if pollination is an issue for any of the fruits. Love the concept but I wonder about these aspects of this particular design.
@johnmcneal947729 күн бұрын
I think this home/space would over heat on sunny summer days and would be freezing cold in the dark of winter when there is no solar gain for heat. For the money spent just on the glass alone, you could super insulate or earth berm a home and control the wild swings in temperatures. Building technology in northern climates has progressed by leaps and bounds in the last twenty years and I don't see this home as anything other then just a novelty or seasonal home.

in other words the filter to screen the water is expensive as living on grid lol
@thomaxtube4 ай бұрын
That filter is usually a regular septic tank buried outside, filtering through to worm compost and/or into a living soil underground watering the plants, usually in 3 stages, before letting anything into nature, its inexpensive, and self maintaining when done right. the waste water is a resource for the off grind garden, not a filtering issue. as this water is not purified back into drinking water, just enough to feed the soil. Whereas drinking / shower water can be easily collected from the (rain) -roof, and filtered, with cheap DIY active charcoal & sand filter to get clean water, even without a bore hole/ well, like in this house has. or if the well water in your area is too hard with minerals/radon

I think our houses in the future will look quite like this one. Maximum use of the sun. A community would probably have a wind turbine too. I have had a greenhouse, I do miss fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. BTW, be aware of the trolls in Swedish woods. They are not nice and cute, they are mean and vicious. If you don't believe me, you can ask any Swede.

It isn't at all. It cools very quickly if the house has been closed up, simply by opening the doors at both ends of the house. There is a ventilation system as well. I have heard from people who have been there in the winter that it is comfortably warm and we were there in the summer which was pretty hot outside and it was very pleasant inside.
