Great video! That opening where you were on top of the first mill made me think of the Mad Max movies with the way the sky was overcast and the clouds were just zipping toward us above your head. The shot at the top of the 2nd windmill actually came out really nice and we could see everything just fine - you blocked the sun for us. A good days work indeed! Hope yall have a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!

the thing that i can't believe is how people could not like this content? it's very informative never gets old always something new to learn and always entertaining!! Shane its great content and for at least myself i am super excited when i get the notification. Its unique content and you are going to make it to 10k subs no problem and beyond! at 10k subs confirmed you should do a live stream to confirm it to the fans. But Merry Christmas enjoy the weekend and next week then the new year after! 2025 is your year and both you Lori will go higher than ever

It is good to see all the contrails over your shoulders while you work. There was a long time with very few. I used to swim laps and there would be a plane every minute flying into Sky Harbor in Phoenix as I swam. We are in the flight path of 3 runways. Then Covid struct and there were few flights for a long time. I can't swim now but I still go out and watch the planes fly over and there are a lot of them again just not as many. It is fun to watch you and your solutions to some of the problems you encounter. I think I would have liked working with you and learning quite a few things about the windmills. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and here's to a Happy New Year, jack
@OkieWindmiller13 күн бұрын
Thank you Jack!!! Always nice to hear from you. I think you would love what we do too. I guess we are at the crossroads of a lot of flight paths, and next to an Air Force base with heavies is also a good contributor of the flights. I love watching them. Merry Christmas to you too!!!!!

They appear to be only decorative. It's a shame they won't functional. Seems a waste. maybe generator heads to make power. In the future they could use them with a solar pump. Thats if the wells are good. Thanks for the great video as usual. Makes me home sick.
@OkieWindmiller20 күн бұрын
Yep they are both decorative. They are both over old wells that have both been filled in in the past. So, to keep the place looking historical, the owners wanted to at least get the mills back going, even if it is for the look. Thank you so much for watching and I’m glad we bring you a little bit of Oklahoma!!!!!!

I agree that you wearing the camera made me absolutely carsick. And I'll say it again quit disparaging yourself. You're doing a fine job, and I don't want to hear it. I'm an old engineer at a big airplane factory, and I'd love to be doing what you are doing.
@OkieWindmiller19 күн бұрын
Yep! So I got to thinking that well work doesn’t work with the head mount because I constantly have to look up and down, and I think that’s the only time I have used it. I may try it again, just to see. Also, I need to see if the camera has a different setting for that, to maybe slow down the jerkiness or speed of the movements. We will see. Buddy that’s awesome what you do!!!! I have worked on big Air Force jets my whole career and have many friends that are structures and all other types of engineers. We speak the same language it seems. Thank you for the kind words and I will work on not talking down about myself. Thank you again and Merry Christmas!

I want to see your channel grow. Here is a simple tip to spark interest. use your phone, take a 30 second video, maybe 15 seconds showing the KEY subject of the Day, followed by 15 seconds of here you go ALL DONE. That is Called a SHORT -KZbin uses these to spark interest and sell ADD SPACE FYI one point of interest, sound, when you guys fast forward you play something with a BEAT, I stream to my hearing aids, I end up muting the sound and using CC, because each of those BEATS is like a shotgun going off.
@OkieWindmiller18 күн бұрын
Man that’s a great idea! I’ve never attempted a short yet. I will now!!!!!!! Sorry about the sound. It’s weird, I try to set all the sound the same level, but have heard before that thru headphones it does that. I need to try it for myself. Thank you for watching and commenting! You know you're not helping my blood pressure when you're working up high without a harness and you start complaining about the wobbly tower AND the wind! Are you sure you're life insurance covers this kind of risk? Other than that, good job! Unrelated, I am amazed that I've never seen you deal with a bolt so rusty it won't come out. How do you explain that?
@OkieWindmiller16 күн бұрын
Howdy there! So like i kept saying, i had my harness on. It’s a thing i do now. You have previously convinced me! As for the insurance, my life insurance fella understands what we did, and said as long as I buy, I die, they pay. No questions asked, because we were very forthcoming with the risks, and he understands. And as for the bolts, these are old galvanized bolts, and they amaze me that 100 year old bolts ands nuts can most usually be removed no problem!!!!!!
@nick540g16 күн бұрын
@@OkieWindmiller Sorry! I didn't hear or see that you were -- I had to FF thru those segments to keep from freaking out! Thanks for correcting me. Old time galvanize must have been a lot more durable!

@ haha no problem! I figured if anyone noticed I was wearing one it would be you, although it’s not the full body harness. It’s my lineman belt. Works great and I can move in it. Yep, I guess they built things to last back then!
