Isn't having a stroke at a young age so strange? I had one myself (fortunately a mild one) a couple of years ago when I was 53. I was always pretty healthy so it was a real shocker. Turns out I had a partially occluded artery in my neck. I never knew.

The dorm story on the 17th floor got to me because I lived in a suite on the 17th floor in college too. It was in Milwaukee, WI. The laundry room and lay out of the suite was so clear in my head from my own memories that it made it extra spooky.

I just wanted to say thank you so very much for your stories. On June 17,2o22 my 17 year old baby boy drowned in the local lake. His friends have told me that he got 2 of his friends to safety but he couldn't save himself. Everytime I close my eyes I see terror in my baby's eyes as he drowned. He was my little before it even happened. Always putting himself in between his friends and danger. Your stories have helped distract me long enough to get at least a little sleep. Thank you and I'm sure Jordan would thank you for helping take care of his mama. He was everything to a lot of people.

That's your story? I was just thinking about that one. I can't help but wonder where the girl's parents were, they weren't mentioned. And, I don't mean to be rude, but what decade was this? You said there were about 18 boys, there would have probably been at least a dozen girls(Unless the birthday girl was a major tomboy). I was a teenager from the late 90s, to early 2000s, and it to my mind the thought of all the girls hiding inside, while their friend is in danger is shocking! There may have been less girls outside, but there still would have been several when I was a teenager. Or all of them would gone out, likely in larger groups. It's interesting how times change.

I have been listening to your relaxing voice for awhile now but have never ever commented but wanted to let you know I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 2 years ago and thank goodness am cancer free now but I have had many complications since my bilateral mastectomy with multiple surgeries since (with one just being this past Friday) I have a lot of trouble sleeping now because of pain and my mind constantly races at night when trying to sleep. My anxiety is awful at night and I put in your calming voice and it helps me relax enough to drift off to sleep and just wanted to thank you for that.

So I understand what Jayne is talking about! Before I found you and Raven I really had a hard time sleeping at all especially when my husband is snoring like a chainsaw! But your voice and the rain that you very considerately keep at a volume level with your story telling help relax and just drift off. I especially love it when you have the long compilations that last for hours so they keep my nightmares away!!! I wake up every morning with an earbud in my ear and actually well rested.
