So I'm kinda new at the vibraphone, and someone told me to learn this. I just don't understand where I'm supposed to use the pedal, can anyone help?

It's really up to player interpretation, whatever you feel fits. But listening to the recording, it sounds like half pedaling or fully pedaling each measure.

And of course petal the full note duration for any half or whole notes.

Other music might have slurs, ties, or even notation on when when to petal, or sometimes your band director will clarify, and sometimes it's it's up to you!
