We loved the store 3 weeks ago when we stopped in to have 6 of our rods spooled before a surf day for our 20th anniversary surf fishing trip. As an Iowa farm girl who grew up bottom catching catfish from the Mississippi River and drowning worms for bluegill and crappie, I am certainly learning so much as you talk through what you see, what you do, what gear you set, and what techniques you use. I feel the grips of a surf fishing addiction creeping in. My background is mostly LMB fishing as I’m in landlocked DFW. Surf fished four times now June, September, Octoberx2 and just got back from Galveston. Only got catfish in Galveston and small drum three days of surf fishing….but still loved it. Is there a resource that informs the general water temp/seasonal patterns and general locations for Louisiana and Texas coasts? A good book or two to read?
