The lady was already pissed at all of the trash fish. And then a guy comes up and knocked her pole onto the pier trying to catch the trash fish . Wth😮. At least respect the people that don't have youtube channels and trying to catch a taco fish , I think they say fish tacos are good😮

For your custom rod I can’t find a 1088 model on thrasher. What length and line rating on it? Thanks great video

For those wondering, the Gulf State Park Pier is still closed. This is not current footage.

Ok haha, makes sense because I just went a few days before this came out to take my son and they were closed, so seeing this video I was thinking, what the heck is going on!

I miss this kind of fishing, it's been over 3+ decades that I have been fishing for mackerel, eel, flounder, etc. near Den Helder which is one of the Royal Dutch Navy's locations on the tip of North Holland, The Netherlands. Flounder was always my goal but, occasionally, I got Mackerel and a darn eel which completely destroyed my line but that's ok, they're good eats!

BBB, I couldn't believe I hadn't subbed you yet, as I have subbed all the rest of your Florabama brothers! You guys all do a great job, not just with your editing and content, but also getting all around Florida! I live and fish the Clearwater/Tampa Bay area since the 70's. I have caught and released 100's of Giant Spawning Snook on Pier 60 at Clearwater Beach through the years and would like to share a few tricks that i've learned over the years for catching pier Snook. I use a 8' Extra Heavy rod, rated for at least 20-40lb braid. I use 50lb braid tied directly to 8' of 60lb Floro with a FG knot. I'll put on whatever I can catch at the pier on a crappy jig w/Lady Fish being my favorite. I usually use a 5/0 circle hook. In the summer, it's pretty easy to get Snook to hit natural baits, but extremely difficult to land them on a pier, unless you do everything right! Make sure your drag is super tight, almost locked! I try to keep my bait swimming from halfway down to just above the bottom, and I try to keep no more than about 7' of slack in my line, so that when she picks up your bait you realize it pretty quick! When she picks it up, let her pull out the slack, DO NOT REEL JUST YET! Right when you start to feel her weight, you want to set the hook very firmly and while cranking simultaneously! Once you set the hook, DO NOT lower your rod tip. If you do it right, your hook set momentum coupled with your cranking will get her to the surface before she knows what hit her! The whole idea is to get her head pointed up towards the surface asap! If she gets her head down she will frieght train straight for a piling and she will be hard to stop! Once you have her on the surface she loses a lot of her leverage, BUT, at this point there isn't much else you can do for now! She is going to go BALLISTIC! Creating whitewater everywhere! Just try to keep her between two pilings and she will settle down pretty quick laying flat, eventhough it seems like freaking forever! lol Hopefully, you or someone has a bridge net on the ready. Get her up quick, get your pics, measurements and weight and quickly get her released as soon as possible. Remember, she has millions of eggs to release during the next few months. I hope this helps someone, Good Luck!

Something you might try next time is par-grill the fish, shred it up and stuff the jalapeños with your mix of cheese and fish wrap with bacon (thin cut) and put back on the grill or under the broiler until bacon is cooked with a little bit of char. 😋

Nothing will have a man contemplating more than a lost fish. It was pretty funny when you were breaking down the film analysis so disappointed and dissatisfied 😂. The average person may not know just how serious this business is lol! It definitely resonated because you never know when you’ll get a chance at those trophy fish. I’m out with a torn Achilles and just itching to get back. I can’t shake the feeling im missing once in a Life time fish and am missing most the spring/summer bite.
