This is one of my favorite songs by Queen! Freddie actually wrote this as a demo in ‘79-‘80 while recording in Munich. Just Freddie messing around during the recording of The Game album. The song is exactly how you’d like to remember Freddie!! “It’s a beautiful day .. Sometimes I feel so sad, so sad, so bad .. but no-one’s gonna stop me now no-one .. It’s hopeless so hopeless to even try.” 👑🌸👑🌸👑🌸👑🌸👑🌸

Don't know if there's more info but this was on wiki Years before Mercury started recording solo material, he created a sound clip of himself experimenting on the piano at Musicland Studios in Munich in 1980 during the sessions of The Game. Later, for the use of this album, the song was extended to two minutes and 32 seconds. The more classical section, without Mercury's improvisation, was put together by John Deacon.

and by the way, in the album, the reprise is followed by a very short recording of Freddie saying "yeah", which works to complete the song. It didn't play in the version you heard because for some odd reason, they released the "yeah" as if it were a separate track. The reprise also contains a little bit of a song called "Seven Seas of Rhye", which I recommend watching a live 80s performance of, to see Freddie's fingers flying over the piano keys. One of my faves! hope you're actually reading this lol. Oh, and if you like Brian's guitar playing you MUST listen to Bijou, from Innuendo. It'll absolutely blow your mind.

Hey David, I'll have a drink to Freddie myself. None of these two are the actual original. The original is just Freddie's voice and him playing the piano, sort of improvising ideas by himself in the early '80s. It was recovered by Roger and John for the Made in Heaven album and reworked in these two ways they released. The original exists out here in youtube, it's very interesting, you should check it out.

It’s very emotional due to the circumstances of how it came to be. Anyway great reaction as always. Get well soon David. 💕👍

In music, a reprise (/rəˈpriːz/) is the repetition or reiteration of the opening material later in a composition as occurs in the recapitulation of sonata form, though-originally in the 18th century-was simply any repeated section, such as is indicated by beginning and ending repeat signs.

Freddie recorded vocals for songs because he knew he didn't have long, after he died, the remaining band members took his voice and put music to his vocals. David, I was so excited when I saw that you were reacting to these two songs! To me they are this album's equivalent of The Show Must Go On! I imagine them as Freddie gearing up to go to Heaven...and he's going to do it his way! (And he did.) The comment you made about the ethereal feel to this music really stuck with me..you put a name to what I was feeling. The arrangement of this song by the rest of the band is just marvelous! You can feel their emotion about saying goodbye again to their friend. Another beautiful and emotional song from this album is A Winter's Day. I believe it's the last song Freddie wrote. He was in Montreux, hiding from the British papparazi having some peace. I hope you check it out and react to it for us. You're the best!
