I was told in 2019, age 43 - that my arthritic hip required replacement. Finding the right PT over the past 3 months has me pain free and almost back to jogging.

Hi. Could you tell me which exercises worked best for you? Not all but maybe the top 2. If you have a spare moment. Thank you.

@@matthewstall3902....I was thinking of that same query. ...Dont you wish people who make these kind of " Comments" would just TELL what this was, that helped them ????! That's why I look at some Comments with a skeptical eye.... Why not JUST PROVIDE what helped you , in case it might be helpful to someone... ; Granted, it might not help " everyone " because there's lots of individuals out here, but give an overview, rather than not .

As one of the few who did indeed need a hip replacement, I endorse this 100%! Pre-op, my right leg was not able to cross the midline, and my walking steps were very tiny. Now, 8 weeks post-op from a successful right hip replacement, I am so much more able to move that leg. And now, I am looking at my left side - where according to the surgeon, my arthritis is almost as bad as the right - and noticing that I still have quite a good range of movement, and that leg does not seem to be limiting me significantly. If I had known this a year ago, maybe I would have accepted the inevitability of a right hip replacement earlier, rather than struggling to fix it with exercise. But it's all good - none of those exercises were wasted, and now I am in a good position to build up my hip and leg strength and mobility. (I am also going to take another look at the knee videos... because my surgeon has also said I need a knee replacement, in at least my right leg. That is something I would like to avoid if possible!)

This channel is great. One problem with arthritis is that there are so many programs out there online or in person and its finding the right one for you or even the right exercises. I think the hip arthriris recovery program sounds fantastic but its hard to commit to it without an idea of actual exercises etc.

I have two of his knee programs. On both of them they had a seven day money back policy. It was recommended that you watch the whole program to see if it was right for you or it could be returned. Hopefully that will be helpful.

Awesome videos. Thank you for posting them. I scheduled surgery months ago but them cutting my bone I wasn't going to do it anyway until I couldn't walk anymore. I started about 4 months ago with nutrition and had prescribed to you. I was not seeing much improvement and my wife reminded about you. It's been about 4 days doing your excersizes and I'm getting my hope back. I'm going slow because muscles are really soar. Next month I should be able to cancel my surgery. Thank you and God bless you and your loved ones.

Your videos are very good. I have had problems with my left hip, which started after I reacted to lipitor (attacked my muscles). First, it felt like my hip was hoping out of the socket, and then I had quite severe hip blockage. After different injections (none worked), I started drinking water honey cider vinaigre twice a day, and I had less to no inflammation. During that time, I did exercises in the pool (4 times a week), physio (twice a week), and changing my diet so I would lose more weight. The hip blockage is gone, most of the pain is gone, and I can walk distances that I was not able a couple of months ago. I have to say that I am doing some of the exercises that you have mentioned in another video, and they help as well. The weirdest thing was that one day at work, the lift didn't work, and I walked up to the 4th floor, and the next day, my hip felt a lot better. So now I try to walk more stairs and it seems to help. 😊

I think mine is sever though I have pretty good range and no locking ( rotation outwards isn’t great) but the ball of the joint is noticeably worn on both sides. All that said the biggest issue is the muscle imbalances like the psoas and sciatica and the over reaction of the quads to stabilize and a low back degenerative disk issue. All of this has affected my knees. Oddly walking backwards on a treadmill seems to help the knee pressure considerably.

dealing with similar. I have psoas bursitis which hasn't been fun to deal wtih and making the arthritic hip worse with harder groin pain going all the way down to my left knee. How long do you walk backward and for how long? I've done it a few times a week for like 5 minutes at a time

How did you get diagnosed with so as bursitis? I have so much groin pain radiating down the front of my leg that I wonder if this is what I have and how I can go about fixing it I want to avoid surgery.
@busey29
@busey29 7 ай бұрын
@@Lrrogers35 MRI bc of hip pain and groin and seeing what else could be going on and it showed the bursa sac very inflamed and filled with fluid. Had a procedure where they drained it and put a steroid in to calm down inflammation and it def helped but unfortunately only for 3 months. Core problem (from ortho) is the psoas tendon isn’t sliding smooth because of bone spurs and arthritis in hip joint so that friction causes the bursitis. Hoping Dr Dave’s program can help and that fixing mechanics will make things work better.

Great Video and would love this to be true for me! How is hip joint locking compared to like a clicking or hitching when you move your hip in certain ways? Mine doesn't get stuck but if I say externally rotate my left leg out, when I bring it back in to straight it will be almost like going over a speed bump. I'm 52 and have been recommended for a replacement with scans/exam but I'm fit and active though definitely have pain at the gym and sleeping

I'm 54. I had a hip injury in the early 2000's that put my hip out of place. I went right back to Judo the moment it happened, and toughed it out, but there was always clicking with certain movements. Twenty years later, and my range of motion is limited and I'm in pain after a few minutes of walking. Don't ignore it. Your hip is loose and out of place. You'll develop bone spurs as a result and it gets worse. Do the exercises. I could've prevented this.

Me too. I can’t do my walk with my girlfriend anymore. It’s just too painful. And I can’t lay on my right side at all. I walk with a limp and take baby steps. I recently talked to several people who have had recent hip replacements and they said it’s the best thing they ever did. All better in about two months. So I’m seeing a surgeon in two weeks to discuss it. I am so over this pain and I want to get back to a normal life. I’m 73 but I feel like I’m 90 because of this pain. I want to be able to work in my garden again and go on my walks. I fought the idea for a whole year and even cried at the idea of it, but it’s time. 😊

My both hips were locking last year, when I didnt know its osteo. I didnt do anyth to it. My pain increased in the lower back and groin and locking disapeared, not sure why. Xray was done last month to confirm left hip osteo and hip impigiment. Physiotherapy at the hospital put me in bed with more pain. I had corti shot privately and now started ,,starting excersizes for hip osteo,, from this Dr. Also i do few back excersizes too as back now hurts more then actual hip. I must get better.

El Paso PT here says that his program discourages ppl with OA from any cycling. He says the reason is because of muscle imbalance; that what is irritating to hip OA pain is the quadriceps are more often than not are overdeveloped compared to the gluteus muscles and because of that, it forces the hip bones to grind together where exercising the gluteus muscles and paying attention to developing them will actually help your joint feel better & pull that joint back from grinding away. Concentrate on the backside.

I just started the HA Recovery program. Question about "most of Range of Motion" -- my left leg/hip can still do most movements, except for internal rotation. I also have difficulty putting on socks/tying shoes for my left leg. I can raise my knee upward, I can externally rotate. The ortho doc. said get PT, surgery not needed. So I'm not sure that I have "most" of my range of motion!!! I've seen videos out there about fixing internal rotation, but I haven't done them b/c they aren't really for HA people. Can internal rotation be fixed/improved with the HA recovery program? Thx!

Hey Eric, great question! (sorry to hear about your hip problem 😞) Yes, the fact that your pain can go away 99% temporarily after taking dicoflenac means that if you took away the root problem causing the painful irritation, then you might be able to solve this problem long term. We have a program specifically designed to address the root problem of hip arthritis. Learn more about it here: "Hip Arthritis Recovery Program" www.epmanualphysicaltherapy.com/hip-arthritis-recovery-program/ Here is some additional information for you that can also be of help: “Hip Arthritis Help” kzbin.info/aero/PLJVIPiFvv1mbICbP6qlXUZwMyAJlKD1dt We hope this helps!
