The slip tool will be fun to add variation. I still wish they introduced more for guitar oriented genres. The Drummers feature is still the biggest leap in GB/Logic in my lifetime that set it apart. Where are the virtual instrumentalists? GB has some.

I wish Logic could add a built in plugin search and a midi file audition. That’s why I still use Ableton Live. Their search bar is so quick and organized, everything is on my fingertips.

LOGIC IS MISSING A BASIC FEATURE that would be welcome for anyone who does a lot of editing. What is really needed is to be able to edit midi notes and audio regions both in the arrange window. That would be ideal, however at the very least if the split window format is needed, it should be possible to be able to have the zoom function for both windows locked together. It is sooo clunky to edit in the two windows with the zoom settings unlinked.

Thanks for the video Chris. I read that it's only compatible with MacOS Ventura and the newest one (which no one with a right (audio) mind has installed.) I didn't upgrade to Ventura (which lasted only for 11 months) because not all my plug-ins / virtual instruments were compatible yet. I hope I can still install Ventura and the new Logic 10.8 after bouncing some virtual instruments tracks.

NIce compatibility update with iPad version and workflow improvements. Guess Browser enhancements, Automation editing improvements with skew function, track and plug in search, ARA, advanced export stem options, some type of Cubase Control Room will be saved for future versions :) Sample Alchemy is crazy though!

That mastering assistant is a great addition. I updated to 10.8 earlier today and found what seems to be a fairly major bug. I opened an existing song and noticed playing it parts were missing. This included studio drums and summing track stacks. Looking deeper into it I saw the meters on the missing tracks were moving but it seems they were not going into the buses or the buses were not going into the studio drums track and the summing tracks. Changing the output of the tracks in studio drums and the tracks in summing track stacks to Stereo Output got them playing but then it does not let me change it back to the buses they were going to. Recreating the studio drums track and the summing track stacks works fine but it's a pain to have to recreate them since I use summing tracks a lot because I find them extremely useful. Any clues to what I am missing or what is wrong? Ventura 13.6.1 (22G313)

It’s a vocoder. And yes you can use it with any vocal but you have to program the chords

My problem is I have a 2016 MacBook Pro with the Monterey OS and I can't load the Ventura OS into this older MacBook Pro so subsequently I can't update my Logic Pro 10.7.9 to 10.8 as it requires Ventura. It looks like Apple is forcing me to buy a new MacBook? That's not right. Anyone know how I can upgrade to Ventura? There should be a safe workaround?

I have a project in work and I applied the Mastering feature to see what it does. It sounded great, but when I tried to re-record a track, the latency so bad that it was unusable. I couldn't just turn off the Mastering plug in; I had to remove it from the stereo out channel. So don't apply the Mastering feature until you're DONE recording everything. I'm running a Mac Studio with the M1 Max and 64 GB of memory, so it's not that I don't have enough computing power.

@@Rialas I did try using low latency and it eliminated the latency problem. But it also disabled all my other plug ins that I wanted to hear. In the natural workflow of making a song, mastering is performed after all the recording is done so this isn't that big of a deal. But I was surprised that the mastering plug used so much computing power.

Just a note on the Character... the only option for Intel based Macs is Clean. The other 3 are available with Apple Silicon only

This is disappointing. Also disappointing is the requirement of macOS 13 minimum. Which I am not a fan of, hence moving back to macOS Monterey (latest update). Finding it a great deal more stable for my 2018 Mac mini and my Audio interface (Waves DiGiGrid D)

Real atmos doesnt work in logic (9.4.1). Its quite obvious that a Stereo Tool working with 2 channel inputs (L/R) cant handle 14 or more. To explain it the easy way… its just hella difficult to write without fucking up the atmos balancing.

Of course it's obvious that a stereo tool can't handle 14 channels. I'm disappointed they didn't provide an Atmos-ready plugin. If you mix through the plugin, you would compensate for any imaging issues with compression for instance as you prepare a mix.@@Dispoboy1​

Yeah, if you are on Intel you are left out. If you have silicon, you might be running on Rosetta, which in that case just open Logic in native.

Before - the nx has to be the last thing in the chain. Take it off before export - and I wouldnt use NX for Mastering - try it and you will see why (gainstaging)

The NX is last in the chain. You just have to remember to deactivate it on the export... I'll typically go with NX, then no NX and back and forth a couple times to get a overall idea on the mix. Ultimately, I want it sounding as good as possible on the crappiest speakers/monitoring as possible. Just my method to the madness.

I highly recommend upgrading if possible, I got my M2 for only $1000 (my powermac was almost $6K) and it's the best computer I've bought, aside from some typical Apple bs with some plugins

I tried out the new Mastering plug-in on a project that only has six tracks (and very few plug-ins - a bit of eq here and there, some compression and some reverb. All of a sudden I kept getting system overload messages. I had to up the buffer size from 64 to 128. But how is this happening on a Mac Studio with the M2 Ultra chip? And the CPU usage doesn't really show above 25% or 30% on any of the 16 cores. I'm not running anything else while doing this, either. [First Logic update which has given me trouble.]

Found the issue: I disabled the plugins folder to eliminate all plugins (I temporarily renamed the plugins folder). Then the project opened! The ERROR log was indicating something with ARA, which for me can only be Melodyne! I had that on one track so I removed it and saved the project. Now it opens without ERROR. Whew, I did a ton of work on that project and was really unhappy that I might have lost it. :)

I appreciate the strengths of Logic Pro X and the recent update, but as a professional musician, I still find some aspects lacking. The mastering capabilities need more flexibility, and there are crucial updates missing for certain plugins. While third-party plugins are an option, having an all-in-one solution within the DAW would be more convenient. I believe there's always room for improvement to meet the evolving needs of musicians. Analyze any of the top tracks, NONE are mastered to -14 LUFS, most between -9 to -6. The new Beatles is literally at -6 LUFS

The new update displays the wrong bpm in the tool bar ! The latest version! They tried to blame it on my erm multi clock but proved themselves ( a supervisor at apple) wrong until they gave up and left me with three choice’s reinstalling the erm plug in ( which we did and checked to see if it was seeing correctly on other devices and it’s indicated nothing to indicate it was not working properly. If the erm detects a bpm of 119 Logic is displaying 120 ! It started doing this after the last two so called updates that broke the daw ! It just keeps getting worse and worse with Logic on Both platforms now ! 20 grand to run crapp software ! It definitely doesn’t rule period ! What it does really well is waste time with major bugs one after another . Sure if you only use Logic and nothing else jack off with key commands that are too many and impossible to remember completely. The tech supervisor I spoke to said he couldn’t even remember a third of them ! You must hav a photographic memory! But you constantly claim these lessons work but they are all key commands. It’s a joke on everyone who believes it a bad one ! But it sells lots of computer huh? Logic is to complex and over designed period✌️👽

@@petergreen1869 Perhaps that works, if your hardware can handle the OS changes. But if you are happy with where your OS is and don't want to switch it's kinda nuts that Logic updates can't roll with an older OS written by the same company.
