(2) LoK: Defiance - Kain finds Moebius

The Heart was in the Sarafan Stronghold after Sarafan Raziel tore it from Janos' chest. Mortanius, as one of the pillar Guardians, had access to it, and used it to create Kain. Moebius' staff targeted (we later find out, when it fails to work on Kain) a vampire's heart, so when Kain lost the Heart of Darkness, Moebius lost the ability to affect him.

That is what made it such a great series.... I can safely say no other game series has been able to pull off such a complex and intertwining story :o :D

moebius's voice actor is richard doyle. He also plays the fury in mgs3 and big boss in mgs4

@TheAndiePerson He never really was the bad guy in the first place. The 1st Soul Reaver depicted him that way so you could feel the treachery Raziel went through. Very useful in motivating people to finish the game lol

The model for Kain in this game is the best of all of them. Even better than the CG versions of the previous games. Kain ftw ^,..,^

@SandrachenGaara The events of Defiance allow the events of BO2 to happen. Chronologically, the whole series is a mishmash because of the time travel, but Defiance results in Janos being possessed by the freed Hylden Lord, which is what leads to the freed Hylden Lord being able to use Janos to power The Device in BO2.

@Joudas : i think that BO2 is quasi another alternative.. I dont think it fits to the whole SR series... there are many mistakes in BO2.. I think that defiance is the last - the ending :) .. By the way - its really nice that you put all cutscences from defiance here in youtube :D .. i d like to watch it so much ^.^

Exactly :) .. but when you see it in years, blood omen 2 took part before defiance.. but defiance made the events in blood omen 2 happen .. a little bit weird but cool :D xDD

Because it was "written in stone" that Raziel was the one that kills him. Which does happen mid-game, but nobody was expecting Kain to resurrect without a heart.

Moebius doesnt have the means to kill him evne if he was inclined to. the only thing capable of killing Kain is the Soul Reaver, and History will ensure this is what eventually happens by havingf Kain " die" at Raziel's hands.

It is not his destiny and people of nosgoth do not have free will. It is not on their nature to try to alter their fate

i fear its less clear than that. when moebius meets raziel in SR2, the wraith blade banishes cuz of the effect of the staff. I think its an issue they needed to be ambiguous

At about this time while playing the game I wished I could have phased through the screen and mauled Moebius. (sigh) Damn screen!

yes but quantum460 is right, this is their first meeting in all history, of course moebius knows kain from what he has done in the future history of nosgoth. But apparently he says that line just to play with Kain's "temporal point of view" his is not relevant for him in this speech.

kain was obviously created because of janos's heart but how did he get his heart and after that why doesn't mobius's staff effect him in the ending
