I just went to my first WCB contest in the past 4 years and it was a great time. I'll bring you along through some of the "MatchPlay" class, 2-Man class, and meet the Judge of the contest, Andrew Neilson. MatchPlay is a speed forging class where you look at a foot for 10 seconds and then we'd build a Plain Stamp BarShoe with Toe Clip in 12 minutes! It's a double elimination style bracket process to find out who is the winner but also as the classes go on, time in the class will be dropped down to 10 minutes and so on.
Then in the 2-Man class we had to build a Hind Draft Horse Shoe out of 17"x1/2"x1.25" and a Double Dobber Hind traction shoe out of 1/2"x1" steel. This class you are allowed a striker for all categories. There were over 120 competitors at this contest! I think 20 Novice competitors and 100 Category competitors. Also, Jim Poor put together a knife throwing contest with some knives that Tom Willoughby made and sent to be used for the knife throwing contest. It was a lot tougher than people thought!! Stay tuned for the next video I'll put out of the Individual class and Live Shoeing class!
