About Piglin Brutes: I see a lot of comments asking how to deal with the super strong piglin brutes in bastions. Piglin brutes were added in 1.16.2 and all future versions. Speedrunners choose to run on version 1.16.1 before brutes were added and before ender pearl drop rates were nerfed. If you are serious about speedrunning 1.16 you really have to run 1.16.1. If you are running a more recent version and have to deal with piglin brutes I would suggest using a lava bucket or pillaring up 3 blocks to deal with them, but they're incredibly strong so good luck.

If you are choosing to play on 1.16.2+, I'd also suggest entering the nether with enough wood to make 6-10 boats per bastion (as nether wood can't be made into boats) and avoiding brutes wherever possible (as they could easily take up 10 seconds to kill) and then when you get to the rooms containing chests or gold blocks, trapping the brutes in boats *before* aggro-ing the normal piglins by mining chests/gold blocks so you don't get overwhelmed.

"Oh dear, another ruined run due to hoglin stables - time to finally learn this bastion from T_Wag." After watching the video: "Oh, so there actually weren't any gold blocks..." Great video, it's awesome to see all this research done already and presented really well.

I kind of like Hoglin Stables the most out of the four bastion types. Even though sometimes it completely ruins the run, I just enjoy the strategy you need to use to pass the bastion.

Hi, very good info but I used the seed and coords in the description and it took me to a housing. Did you maybe write wrong seed and coords or does it just generate "a bastion" without actually being a specific type to the seed? Or is it because I am on 1.16.3? Just curious. Either way this was super helpful. Update: It is consistently taking me to housing. Also I just found out brutes are exclusive to 16.2 and up so I'm finna get 16.1 lol
@TWagz4 жыл бұрын
Bastions generate the same based on the seed and version. So ya it looks like if you tried this on 1.16.2 or up it is a different bastion type. And ya the changes to pearl barter rates and addition of piglin brutes make bastions almost un-runnable in version 1.16.2 and up, so sadly if you want to speedrun you're kind of forced to stay on 1.16.1

those are piglin brutes, and they were added in 1.16.2, so you want to make sure you are running in 1.16.1 so that you won't have any piglin brutes

There are a lot of runners making guides for specific bastion situations, and there are routes that use just those 4 gold blocks yes. I would recommend checking out Fyroah and EleventyBillion on youtube and the Minecraft Java Edition Speedrunning discord

This is fantastic info, but you could make a much better job at keeping it concise and comprehensive. There is no need for this video to be half an hour long. like half the video is you making filler sounds. Well outside of it being more work for you to make this a much more efficient tutorial, so it's very fair that the tutorial is the way it is, thank you for the tutorial.
