Oh, I like your sleeveless version. I hadn't got the pattern before now because I'm not really a blazer person, but sleeveless, yeah, I can see me wearing that.

It would be fun making one with real suede leather using the raw edge technique you showed us in this video. I am thinking about it.

Oh Karina, your jackets are just lovely 😍 I've had the pattern for a while now but just haven't committed to sewing it. Love your pink printed Ponte and you are spot on about the unfinished edges on scuba. Last year I purchased a blazer similar to the Metra from Chico's here in the states simply because I adored the Monet-like print and it was all raw edge! Thank you for constantly inspiring us with your creativity and talent!

This is probably my most favorite pattern ever. I have made 3 blazers, each a very different fabric. Ponte Roma, stretch knit faux leather, and french terry. Wow, I love your beautiful fabrics. If I could find them locally or online, I would get some and have MORE Metras!!

Karina, you’ve inspired me yet again! I’ve had the Metra Blazer pattern since last year, have fabric intended for it also. I never considered making a vest from it. I’ve seen some gorgeous suede scuba’s too. I can also see overlocking the edges with a decorative stitch and thread😊
@debm4602 жыл бұрын
Karina, it’s like you read my mind! The belted version reminds me of the belt on the Sienna Jacket (didn’t think to add a belt to the Metra) and yesterday I was wondering If the Metra would work as a vest (don’t have enough fabric for the sleeves). As usual, you helped me through the creative process.

Very cute blazer. What sewing experience would you need to be? I would like to make it, but not very experienced. Maybe just not confident enough.

Using a non-fraying fabric makes me wonder if doing some cut work on the lapel would work. What do you think?

Did you try it?

Would this pattern work for boiled wool fabric?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles2 жыл бұрын
No because you need a knit fabric that stretches. Boiled wool only has mechanical stretch but no Lycra/elastane content. It would not fit and would be very uncomfortable.
