Damn I’m so glad I got an H90 recently! I was so close to buying the EHX Lizard Queen for an octave fuzz and a Deco over the last year but this update just saved me from buying two more pedals 😅

"80's grease inpired block" ! A very good idea! Eventide can help bring back the 80's LA Sound /A.O.R.! Lately, I've seen a lot of videos on youtube about the 80's tone (chorus, detune micropitch, dimension) like for example the Vertex Effects video with Dann Huff and the 80's glorious guitar tones. I've discovered through Spotify that the "A.O.R."/80's pop/rock music is alive and well in Sweden with lots of bands sounding like the 80's. (They also love David Hasselhoff... LOL) We need more 80's algorithms from Eventide! (And also some David Gilmour guitar modulation inspired algorithms) Sorry for the writting errors Greetings from Portugal!

What an awesome demo, Leon! The thing with Eventide is they have been making crazy weird effects for ages, though social media was not around yet so certain algos never had the spotlight on them the way other new effects have today. Take Undulator for example. If that had not existed before and they released it today, you can bet that people would go nuts! Insane of an effect. I agree with the need for new "multi" algorithms. Cheers!

Undulator is one of those "secret weapons". I've used that so much over the years, would LOVE if they did it is a standalone pedal

Eventide could sell a lot of those standalone fuzz pedals if that existed. I was expecting nothing from the fuzz but after hearing it its amazing.

I have two algorithms on my wish list - a bit crush / sample rate reducer in the vein of the meris ottobit, and a 'simple' filter (i.e. a low/band/high pass filter I can control with an lfo / expression pedal). Kind of blows my mind that the second one doesn't already exist, unless I'm being extremely dense and have just straight up missed it...

Wow that is all that is Crazy Good. Get lost in that. I just watched video of UK Amp history. They were messing around trying to get distorted and loud guitar. So before there was pedals, they ran a AC30 for clean and a Marshall JTM 45 I think, took a razor blade and put some slices in Marshall Speaker. This was how they got first Fuzz sound. Now we have the H90 for Fuzz and Beyond. Too Kool. Cheers

I'm not generally a fan of fuzz, but that could convert me. So meaty. As for the Sticky Tape, well... They've got some real geniuses in the algorithm development department over there.

Since I do a lot of covers and often want to reuse or duplicate many tones and sounds, I've been looking for the right multi-effects pedal. Most people whose pedalboards I've seen usually have either an H90 or an H9. What I can't justify anymore is buying pedals for single-use applications. I can't imagine buying, for instance, a Straymon brand pedal for reverb, then one for delay, or chorus, etc. It would only take two or three of those pedals to come close to the H90. I'm trying to justify the H90 as an alternative to a massive pedalboard and mortgaging the house to get the sounds I want and need. Everything I've seen on the H90 will likely accomplish what I want. Especially when I don't like overly processed sounds. Fairly simple tone with the occasional specialized effect. Since I'm a child of the 70's and 80's and a big fan of EVH I like to keep it fairly simple. Do you think the H90 does this well or do you think it's better to buy a bunch of pedals that may be the gold-standard of a particular effect like reverb?

I've had the h90 for, like, 9 months or so. I think it's a fantastic pedal for three things: - delays (I'm able to have no other delay pedal on my board) - pitch stuff / chorus - filling in for other modulation effects that you only need for, like, one song A couple of other thoughts: - if there are other effects you use a lot, like, pretty much every song, I'd probably not suggest being able to get rid of dedicated pedals, given that the h90 only has two algorithm slots (so for me that's distortion/overdrive, and reverb, where I have a Strymon and meris pedal respectively). - the routing options on the h90 are completely underrated. So you can have a loop with your other pedals, and basically place them anywhere in the signal path relative to the two h90 algorithms on a preset by preset basis. It's super powerful. There are some KZbin videos floating around that demonstrate this. - the hotswitches also provide a ton of flexibility. You basically get 4 versions of the preset in one, if you want, which really helps live performance (this was a huge step up over the H9) - you get a tuner for free, if that's currently taking space on your board - the second hand prices I've seen on Reverb are not horrendous - I know a lot of people baulked at the RRP when it first came out - Eventide are still putting out new algorithms, and are actively developing the software, so likely that you'll get even more features in the coming year or two

@@calbal91 I'm currently running a Fender Switchboard with a Tonex for amps. I also have a few other pedals that are for specific purposes, like hitting the flanger for a second on Van Halen's Unchained. The Tonex has a great reverb, so I've basically moved over to that exclusively for reverb. I'm trying to figure out the easiest and most useful approach to the need for a drastic tone change for each song. I'm old school and so some of this new technology is taking me some time to get figured out. I'm also kind of an old guy and am more used to the days when we only had access to a few pedals and lived and died off the Ibanez green distortion pedal and maybe a flanger or chorus. I though the Fender Switchboard would be easier to figure out than it has been, but I've also ignored MIDI from the beginning because I though it was only about keyboards. I thought about getting a Fender Tone Master Pro, but couldn't justify the nearly $1,700 price tag. If I can't make things work the way I want with the Fender Switchboard, I may sell a bunch of pedals and go to the Tonemaster Pro. This is why is why I am struggling with what direction to go. If I were to go the way of the Tonemaster Pro, I could justify the expense over time since I wouldn't need other pedals. I seem to be focusing more on getting the right tone rather than working on becoming a better guitarist. That frustrates me. I appreciate your input very much. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

🤠Oi Mate! Have you checked out the Bluetooth editor for the H-90? I am curious to know if you have used it. It would seem to be an easier way to make adjustments to the H-90 when a computer is not available? Also do you know if there is a "Vegemite" algorithm for the H-90? 😜Rock on brother! 🤟
