As a mechanic and growing up on a farm I believe the clutch pedal is there primarily because it is a non live pto tractor. Also referred to independent pto, it is carried over from the manual transmission design and if it was offered only as a hydro they would remove the clutch pedal altogether and install an electro-hydraulic switch for the PTO.

I have been cutting hay for about 25 years now. Not sure what hay equipment you have or are considering, or how many acres you have to cut. The utility tractor is hands down the best choice for hay. It's weight being needed to handle the baler and mower. Compact tractors will run the equipment if the hp is enough, but they will be pushed around alot by the baler. If you have any steep slopes it can also be a safety concern. All the other work is easiest with a hydrostat. That's why I have 2 tractors. I have enjoyed watching you through this process and look forward to what you decide.

I'm not 100% on this MY Branson has it too and I wish the break was on the left also. But I believe the clutch is to disconnect the hydro pump from the engine when starting the tractor. So to give the starter less stress when turning the engine over for start up. Looking, forward to what you find out.

My neighbor has an older Massey Ferguson, don't recall what the model is, but it's probably from the 80's. It is SO much quieter than my 2021 Kubota L4701. His exhaust vents straight up, mine is off the lower left front, don't know how much difference that makes. When he's pulling a bush hog, it's just chugging along. I wear hearing protection whenever I run mine and feel like it could be heard in the next county.

Beware Bobcat! Brock, be very careful. I have a low hour Bobcat CT2035. The loader is dangerous. Try this test: put on forks and a 600 pound load. Hey Brock - I produce several thousand bales of hay annually with my 2038R. The only negative for me is lift height when I'm handling bales with my 10 bale grapple. Another six inches would be nice. It's just the right size to drive into high cube shipping containers for hay storage. It runs my John Deere 328 baler without difficulty and I have a Hoelscher 1000 bale accumulator attached. I do have Hydros Pus upgrades. Going bigger has advantages but also disadvantages.

Well from a selfish perspective I would love to understand all the features and how they are properly applied... like the no stall and cruise control PTO etc. Mine seems to have two leavers for the 3 point lift and I don't as of yet know why or what each lever is used for. There is an odd top link linkage (looks to be a hydraulic link of a sort) on the three point at the tractor end that I don't know as of yet what it is for or how it works. I'm also not sure how and when each feature will be applied but glad I have options for now. Mine is mainly being used for steep driveway maintenance (grading) and moving materials. I bought mine because I needed creature comforts of a cab and enough HP to grade going up the steep driveway unlike my old tractor that could only grade while going down the steep driveway. To be honest though the 84 month 0% financing and that it is essentially a Kioti tractor made me choose it. I'm building a remote parcel delivery pad using a job box at my entrance gate and a pad for my propane tank at the house. I have the backhoe and plan to trench for my septic connections as well as water and solar power service connections to our new home. One thing I noticed is the fuel consumption is more than double when compared to my old normally aspirated shuttle shift 28HP tractor. I guess you have to feed those ponies to use them LOL. Lastly the Kubota and John Deer dealers would not budge on the terms of the sale of their equipment and didn't seem to care if I bought from them or not. The Bobcat dealer however was very agreeable when it came to deals and options.

Biggest thing with making hay with a small tractor is, controlling it when on a slope when the ground is not flat, and the tractor is relatively light, the plunger can potentially really make it wiggle. . Having a clutch pedal allows you to engage pto attachments more smoothly than just a switch on the dash. In my experience. . For any regular use on a road, like say you regularly run back and forth a mile or 2 between 2 locations, best to run industrial tires. The ag tires will not hold up to regular use on a paved surface as well. But for any dirt/mud use ag is far better.

I really think that you'll be doing yourself a disservice by not putting that two-bottom plow on the larger New Holland and the larger Bobcat that you've got and pulling that through some dirt. Id love to see a video on what size property (Average Chores) fits which tractor, aka right size tool for the right size job. I'd also like to see something about the ergonomic / how comfortable it is to use each of the tractors. At the end of the day I don't think anyone goes buying a tractor for the fact that it lifts more than another tractor, I think the biggest hitters are the amount of feature you are getting for the price you are paying. I was sad to find out the extra paid for Kubota features on my bx1880 are pretty much standard on a Kioti and the fact I could have bought a cab equivalent for the same price as my open station kubota! The main factor was brand recognition as to why it was more expensive. Had I known many extra features are standard on a Kioti, I probably would have bought from them from the get-go! Not to say I have buyers remorse, I love my Kubota but it sure would have been nice to have a cab tractor for the same price!

John Deere puts theirs up there as well. A lot of people consider it preferable. Some people complain that having it down low like a lot of the other brands is a good way to damage the fuel tank and having it on the hood is a good way to spill fuel.

Personally, I’d buy Kioti over Bobcat. Get the tractor with the same name on the hood as the company that built it - seems like a better way to get long term service. I have a Ford compact built by Shibaura. New Holland deep sixed that partnership after more than 25 years and teamed up with LS instead. At 42 years old, despite being a great machine, my tractor is obsolete and it can be difficult (and costly) to get parts. I’ve hit up tractor junkyards a couple times… The local New Holland dealer is great… but it stinks when they really want to help and things just aren’t available. The dealer service crew says my tractor is one of the best they made, and I can attest it is a stout little machine. Too bad the manufacturer didn’t stand by it with parts availability.

@ProductiveRecreation
@ProductiveRecreation 5 ай бұрын
@@RealJeep Yes, but Kioti is daedong’s name brand in the US. Bobcat is a rebranded machine - they buy from daedong, like New Holland does with LS. Bobcat could end that agreement, and start a new one elsewhere, or start designing and building their own machines (which they have expressed desire to do). Daedong will keep selling Kioti unless for some strange reason they decide to exit the U.S. market. That seems pretty unlikely. They’ve been growing and doing well.

What are you wanting to do with it? I bought a utility tractor and it's serving me well EXCEPT I can't take it on the lawn. It'd be handy to have a 1025R or something that size for spreaders and aerating and such. But you're not going to move IBC totes loaded with firewood or pull a 72" tiller, flail mower, or rotary cutter.

I don't think it would be a proper single-tractor solution for Brock either. It would be handy as a second tractor for when you need to do some close-quarters work in woods, or cutting tight lots, or digging in near a building. Take care and God Bless.

Bobcat is a weird one for me. I really like them I even like the way they look though I don’t normally like the color orange, but bobcat is a pretty good company when it comes to their skid, steers, and larger equipment, but they have a horrible history in the compact tractor world And is created some buyer trust issues. These have visual features on their indicating that it’s very likely these are clones or these are manufactured by someone else which is kind of good, but only because of bobcats, horrible history in the compact tractor market they came out and they had some cool units and then they just sort of dropped the whole thing and said oh well and ditched their customers and left them hanging And now they’ve kind of come back again but we don’t know how dependable they’re going to be and of course the people promoting them say oh they’ll be completely dependable and will always be there for our customer, but they weren’t in the past unless people hanging as one of the situations where you bought an expensive piece of equipment, and we kind of left to deal with it on your own because the company just said we don’t deal with that anymore to their customers. Bobcat is a legit company in the skid steer and excavator market and has been for a long time and I would really like to see them do good in this compact tractor area but I think to do it you’re gonna have to put in some years first and they started But people need to know that if they pump out all this money that 10 years from now you’re gonna be able to get parts and support and just not be dropped again. And honestly they’re gonna kinda have to take the Japanese route to this market where I’m just gonna have to be very competitive on their prices and put out a better quality product and push some innovation because honestly if a bobcat and a John Deere in the same class are close to the same price. I’m gonna buy the John Deere every single time because I know John Deere will be there to support it down the road and bobcat. I know there might not because they Messed up before so there needs to be some kind of incentive there with TYM I don’t know if they’re gonna be there in 20 years and this time goes by they’re gaining that but I think for Bobcat to compete they’re gonna have to be out there putting out either a top notch, impeccable product or even a better product and they’re gonna have to price themselves against the arcade and TM and LS and coyote stuff because they’ve got some hurdles that they’ve created in the past to overcome now. Other than that, I kinda like what they’re putting out but I’m glad you’ve got these two units and will give us a good breakdown on how they’re built and how they function because I would like to see some competition out there for the green and the orange stuff

hi mr rockhill i watch all your vidjas. tractor time w tim has a 4 piece scale to weigh tractors. then you could do it with logs on forks to get log weight. this may give you a tool for content? PS the TYM T494 and T574 are different than all other tractors. there is a vidja KUKJE VS EVERYBODY ELSE it tells you about the mechanical fuel injection and the least amt. of computers and sensors in the industry. KUKJE is the most simple modern tractor engine made. very easy to troubleshoot. the only difference between the two is the 494 has no turbo. the 494 ROPS w two pair rear remotes and factory TYM 3rd function is the only one that has hard lines all the way to the bucket. PPS HUGE flat floor for your dog to ride. my 2022 TYM T494 was $31k with 5 remotes and rim guard and steel cutting edge on bucket 1/2'' x 6'' x 72'' if you do not have a tax number larry stovesand sells with no tax due to the state he is in. Tenn. im in ny and it cost $$1800 or less to ship. yours would be cheaper. loader lift is 2785 and the 494 with loader and rim guard is 6700 lbs. i am at 92 hours and still no regen. if you want to know. thanks rick cooperstown ny Canadarago lake ny (center of the state)

I'm only at the 3:00 minute mark on your video so far Brock, but I'm going to jump out here and comment anyway, and maybe my comment will end up being irrelevant. But first off, getting the smaller Bobcat tractor is kind of a waste of time, isn't it? If it's a DIRECT competitor to your current 2038, why bother looking at it, as you're goal is to move up in size and performance, right? The larger Bobcat with the cab, I understand giving it a try, just not the smaller one. Also, doesn't getting all of these machines at the same time kind of "muddy the waters" and get confusing? I THOUGHT (and could be wrong) that you only get to keep the New Holland for a week, right? And if that's the case, you've hardly put any seat-time in on that one, so will it even get a fair shake by the time you have to send it back to the dealer? I don't know, it just seems like having so many tractors at your place at the same time, might not be the best thing, as none of them will get the individual testing that they may have if they were the only machine that you had at your place at a time. Not trying to be critical, just my observations and opinions. I still wish you the best in your search for your new machine, and hope you get WHICHEVER one suits your needs the best.
It's the TYM 2515 and then Everybody Else
