The bridge was purchased by McCullough as in McCullough chainsaws. He started a manufacturing plant to build his saws. He purchased the bridge to promote the city and bring tourism. If you look to the east on one of the small mountain tops is the home of McCullough. His son now lives in it. If you go east on McCullough when you see all the bars and restaurants there's a print shop it's been there for many years. A wonderful women owns it. She has photos of the city way before the bridge got moved. Where the bridge is at once was the airport. If you get a chance stop by the print shop. She's a wealth of knowledge on the city.

Both sets of parents did an exceptional job raising you. You should be very proud of how you turned out to be adults....outstanding humans you are. You are easily the best of the best. I use a 2-gallon pump sprayer for a shower, I heat the water in an old coffee pot and get it warm to the touch. I use watered-down soap in a spray bottle to spray on my skin. Then all I do is rinse with the hot water. Good luck and safe travels. You guys are awesome been watching you for a while now.

Throw away your old shower bag, and the atavistic, barbarian measurements away! :-). Or better still, get a sharpie and mark the number of litres ~3.785 [per US gallon] times two on your shower bag. One litre of water weighs 1 kilogram. Gasoline weighs slightly less than water per unit of volume [it is less dense], and some denser liquids weigh more than water. If you know the conversion [the relationship to the liquid to the specific gravity of water, you can easily calculate the weight and volume any liquid is! Thankfully, the US does use metric dollars and cents, so the relationship between cost and volume of fuel is also easily calculated and can be more easily and directly compared to fuel [or for milk or whatever] overseas. Also, the water quality is better in most parts of the developed world, on average, than in many parts of the USA. [Grins]

We use Norwex n no soap (except for hand washing and ofc-dishes, laundry) But if I was grimy I would need a rinse down first. I don’t want that deposited in my cloth. Plus my hair needs shampoo n it’s long n thick. I can’t imagine 2gals - I need 10 gal easily.

This was a long time ago for me, so I may not be remembering this correctly, but my parents became good friends with a next-door-neighbor couple when we still lived in a Los Angeles suburb, I remember their names as Jim and Mickey. Our family moved up the coast to Santa Barbara in 1966 and Jim and Mickey, at some point in time (before or after, don't remember) moved to the brand new then-town of Lake Havesu City, which began forming after the dam was built (both the lake and the town). I kinda remember when the City of Lake Havesu bought The London Bridge, which was shipped in numbered pieces to Lake Havesu City, I was around 16-17 years old at the time. I remember thinking at the the time it was kinda like The Statue of Liberty, which was built in France and later shipped to the USA as a gift, each piece numbered to match schematics that illustrated how to reassemble it. I've heard that, if you take the guided tour of The Statue of Liberty, which climbs up the inside of the statue, you can still see the numbers on the various pieces. Don't know if that's true for The London Bridge.

Hi Jimmie and Natalie! Sheila and I were also in Lake Havasu City. We stayed with a few friends in Craggy Wash. Andrew and Susanne were there. They painted their bus and made some improvements - also interviewed us and our trailer build. We finally secured new solar panels and made some adjustments inside, including the "tower of power" to move the Bluetti and create counter space for Sheila. She's been cooking some great dishes since she has space. I'm surprised we didn't bump into you at Planet Fitness. Sheila loves the rowing machine, and of course we both loved the chance to take hot (or warm, depending on how many people were there) showers. We agree, it was crowded - lots of couples as well as singles of all ages were there. We tried to go in the late evenings to beat the crowd. Sorry we missed you! We can't wait to see where you travel to next. Be safe, happy, and healthy. Happy Trails!

Just subscribed to your channel. You make me laugh. Probably 2 plus times your ages, but we love your sense of adventure. We have the Promaster 350o, did not build it out, but it is very nice set up from a manufacturer. So as older folks who missed the 25-26 year window of free spirits because we had a family early and we were kinda workaholics. Now it is our time, and we gain a bit of adventure from you doing what we might have done if we took a different road. Absolutely no regrets as we have two wonderful daughters, but now it is our time to be those folks traveling around in a van for a couple of months at a time. Travel on.

If you can see California then it counts as eating an In-And-Out Burger in California. The bridge is really from London but it was built in 1830 for horse and buggy travel and by the 1960s it was not suited for modern car and truck travel. Some guy bought it labeled the stones and shipped them to Arizona. We had to report on it when I was in elementary school.

We boondock 95% of the time. (99% probly) we have a solar shower bag and when we can we use the water from cooler ice to fill it. Because the gravity shower end isn't great we dump it into our 5 gal. Bucket. We use a rechargeable shower pump and usually have to add cold water cuz it gets so hot. It works great and we get two uses from the ice we bought for the cooler. :) You guys do great video's! Cya down the road! In Quartzsite now. Peace.

Hi guys. I love watching your videos because of all the great American things I am learning. Never heard of Yum Yum sauce, but turns out we can get it here in Canada, at Walmart. I first looked it up to see what was in it: mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, garlic, sugar, paprika and water to thin the sauce out, before finding out I could buy it here. Both dinners looked delish. Again never heard of In N Out....but we don't get a lot of American television here in Canada (barely anything) so that may be why.
