Hi Phoebe!! I love your energy and glow in this video.. Its so nice to see you heal your soul and find your own way.. The world is brighter with your light in it so never let it dim❤❤❤ Just want to ask, what type of cameras do you use? I love how you balance the light in your shots that we can still see the inside of the hotel, with those bright breath taking views from the massive windows. Also, do you use a post production software to touch up your shots? Always been a big fan! Hope I can make awesome shots and videos like you for our Japan trip next year! Definitely will have Hokkaido in our itinerary! Sending love from GC❤❤❤

Oh love 🥹🌸✨ this brightened my day like you would not believe! You’re so lovely and thoughtful, thank you 🥰 So I’m just using my trusty iPhone and a Nikon Z30! Nice and simple and reliable for those shots you mentioned. I do some work in Premiere Pro around colour correcting but mostly just saturation, I try to keep things as natural as possible and just tweak them to get it to look how it felt on the day if that makes sense 🥰

Gooooooooood morning, Phoebe! (Gooooooood afternoon for us, but, I'm hoping you read this in your am! Haha). After Tokyo and Osaka, these two nights in Hokkaido seem to have provided a moment to slow it up a little and take it all in. Although, it looks like you and James may have taken in a little too much sake and wine the first night! :) Rob's review incoming: * You do know you rock a kimono, right? Makes us all a bit jealous. * Quite the adventure to get there. Really like the details you provided on how y'all got there. Very informative and helpful. * You're providing such essential information. So cool to have the written cues on screen to match your VO and the images. You'd be amazed how many travel vlogs fail to provide this most essential of information. * Sharkansen returns! * Great and important tip for us future travelers there--cash. It's so critical to know what places prefer cards (US) and which prefer cash (where you were). Info like this can be a life saver. I remember when you were in Bali, you detailed the kind of cash needed (for Japan it's pretty obvious). * Looks like it was really quiet in this town and at the hotel. Looks like you were the only ones there! If I recall correctly, this was in late April/early May, correct? We can see that there are still sakura everywhere. But was it as quiet and lacking of people as it appeared (or is that just from the magic of your filming and editing)? * I like how your editing went from faster cuts during your trip there, to more lingering shots of the hotel. Everything slowed down (as it obviously did for you while you were there). Good editing! * Hope you got to use the onsen at some point! * We recently subscribed to a Japanese snack box service and we look forward to all of the unique snacks they deliver--I recognized one or two from your shot! That was a very cool way for us to connect with where you were. * That food looks amazing. As I watched the first time, I couldn't help but comment that the drinks kept changing...and emptying. You switched to water, it looks like...as we learn later, good move! Poor James--sucks getting older and realizing the body just can't recover like before. Blah. "The consequences of his actions." Annoying that I suffered that myself this past Saturday (Friday night was good 😁)! * Now that's a breakfast. Wow. * I noticed in your description that you've included the music used--nice addition. * Ok, just you again and Phoebe--you have an incredible eye for video and photography. You found the beauty in that town and in your world. We loved the images of the blossoms and you in them. Just wow. And appropriate lyrics in the music you selected. * Neat waterfall...but nothing compared to the ones you found earlier this year in NQL, eh? * I have a weakness for apple anything--were you able to try the pie? * Yes, James...that was a cool shot of the two of you, even if the water was apparently anything but cool. Haha. (I think he may have still been feeling the consequences of his actions, if he couldn't feel that "hell water!") * Making new friends in new places, even if temporarily to just take a quick photo--makes our lives so much more enjoyable. Cool to see you doing that from time to time. * "Redemption night"...and...instantly into the sparkling sake (which I do like alot)...looked more like "Hair of the Dog Night!" 🤣 * A long journey for that potato to reach y'all. You both obviously appreciated it (especially the Irishman!). * Based on those images, looking forward to next week! Can't wait to see what the surprise was. I keep saying it, but it keeps being worth saying--you have really found your style in this series. Found your confidence and your sparkle. It is such a joy to watch. And you also are sure to include such valuable information. You've provided a lot of inspiration and wonderful tips for travelers to follow. The sign of a professional vlogger (rather than those who just seem to be making videos to show off where they went). Keep going. There's so much more of the world for you to conquer and share with us! Have a great week, Phoebe! Rob&Erin

At this point I may only be making these videos for Rob's Review hahaha You know what, I feel very at home in a Kimono! I may need to start wearing one all the time. I feel like it could be the ultimate travel outfit actually, super comfy on the plane :) So glad you loved all the info! I was a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out how to get there so I was hoping my sharing it all with lots of visuals it'd help others get there and have an amazing time too. So glad you clocked it! Yesss so this would've been the very start of May :) hahaha I'm not a big drinker so I really just have a little sip and that's it. James... he's Irish so he's got a whole different approach going on hahahaha he rallied like a champion though! I went to bed and got a good night's sleep - he got about 2 or 3 hours on a wooden bench hahaha so funny. LOVE that you noticed the lyrics in the music I chose for the Jozankei montage! I found that song and was like 'ahhhh this is PERFECT!' OH MY GOSH the apple pie place! I had been cyber-stalking them for weeks and was so excited to eat there cos I am obsessed with cooked apple desserts and I finally got there and it was closed :( Apparently it was for a public holiday. I still included it tho so others could visit cos it looks amazing. Thanks Rob and Erin! It's so lovely having you see the journey I'm on and appreciating all the love that goes into making these :) Next week is the last episode in the Japan series and then we're onto a very special celebration and a BIG announcement for our 100k! AHHHH! I'm editing like a maniac :) Have a great week you two - P x

@@travelforphoebe I am Japanese. A room wear provided by a hotel is called a "YUKATA". Speaking of yukata, you will see a lot of women take part in the summer festival in yukata. Please note that some hotels inform their guests of prohibiting to walk around the hotel in yukata. KIMONO is rather Japanese traditional clothing.

Thank you so much love :D This whole series for me has been about finding my video style and growing my confidence and I've absolutely done that. I'm feeling so energised and inspired again, it's lovely. I LOVE that question, a great one to ask! We're such good friends and have so much fun we'll definitely travel together again I'm sure, I think we'll just keep each other posted on travel plans and if we're in the same place at the same time or wanna team up again for an adventure we can. BUT I really wanna do lots of solo travel this year and I have some press trip/media trip offers which is exciting (especially cos they stopped altogether during the plague and are only just coming back now). Hopefully I'm not explaining something you already know, forgive me if I am, but travel creators get offers from travel brands and tourism boards to join organised trips and often there's other creators or media on them. So, for example, I have an offer at the moment that is with 30 other creators! I'm excited to travel with lots of other people and make new friends - hopefully people I can travel with again like I did with James cos having other creators to bounce off like that is so fun. You learn lots, get better video, you're with like-minded people so you approach travel the same way, it's safe and you just enjoy it more. I'm hoping to make lots of new travel buddies while travelling solo too, gonna try push outside my introvert bubble :)

Hiya! I remember your Hokkaido episode when you went for wintersport, but this is a whole different way to experience Hokkaido. I figured Japan is a country of cash when I was there back in 2018, but it seems nothing has changed. I bet your top 5 kitchens has Japanese included, hasn’t it? At least it’s in my top 5. Not only the view is good, but that breakfast is insane 🤩😮! ‘Consequences’ hahaha, you got me there, poor guy! The nature is so freakin’ beautiful in Hokkaido 😍. ‘The water is fresh from hell’, I usually tend to say that when it’s freezing cold, but this was the exact opposite haha, I bet you don’t love hot water. What was the temperature? Anyway, thanks for sharing and have a great week ahead 🤙

You creep! ;) hahahaha thank you sooooo so much. This comment is mind-blowing to me. Taking over filming and editing the videos by myself was overwhelming. I got a crash course in Premiere Pro over an hour or two and had to just take it from there. It's been terrifying and a real learning curve. There have been so many times I thought I wouldn't be able to do this.... and to get to now where I genuinely LOVE the entire process of making these and you're asking me to teach you cos you love them so much... it's unbelievable. Fills me with so much confidence and self-belief so, thank you. I would be more than happy to share the process :) I'm still finding my feet and a little overwhelmed with all the behind-the-scenes stuff, running this small business all by myself so give me a little time to settle in and once I have the time and space, I'll find the best way to share it all with you! The best thing I can share now is just to have a really wonderful time doing things you love and film it haha share it in a way that captures how it felt to you.
