Hey doctor. I just saw my surgeon from my previous rectal surgery (fistula, fissure and hemrroids). He said I have a small superficial fissure. It bled last night. Previous it had bled 3 days ago then 6 days ago. But it was itchy yesterday before it bled. Do you think even though it bled it would heal quicker this time around? What are your thoughts on supplements that are supposed to quicken wound healing? I started to take those since I have a trip in 18 days and I'm desperately trying to close it up before then. (Been eating lentils every night 🤮)

I faced the same. After battling 12-13 days the fissure, I thought, healed. Again after 10 days all of certain I saw the same pain and blood. OMG. Again I am battling with the same medicine and techniques. Thank you Dr. I thought I am alone in this journey. Just a question. The whole cycle is almost 5 weeks old. Will it turn into chronic if not healed within a week?

I had a severe fissure for 12 years. It came about while I was pregnant and suffering from severe constipation. I also developed huge skin tags several times and had to have them removed. My colorectal doctor wasn’t the best. She offered me some weird cream that didn’t do a thing. My health insurance sucks, so I couldn’t afford the surgery to get Botox or the LIS procedure. A few years ago I read an article that talked about how to cure a chronic anal fissure. For many years I had taken Miralax and stool softeners to keep my stool soft. I had soft watery stool for years and I still had issues with my fissure. All of this caused my bum hole to shrink down and not be sufficient to having a normal bowl movement. The poop would get stuck, I would push more and the fissure would open back up again. In the article I mentioned, talked about this and the solution was to increase the size of my bum hole. About two years ago I started the dilation process to widen my bum hold. I just use my finger and dilate my bum 10 minutes a day while I’m taking a bath. Along with this, I take a tablespoon of miralax, one stool softener and a teaspoon of psyllium husk in a glass of water. I’ve done this every single day for the last two years and I no longer have a fissure. No bleeding, or fear of pooping or trips to the doctor. My fissure was so so painful and it was honestly making me extremely depressed. I’m so happy I found that article and kept up with my self healing. I told my doctor about what I was doing and she didn’t seem to think it was anything special. I hope someone reads this posts and takes my advice. It was life changing to get rid of my fissure.

Ah, what a great video. Thank you. I went through much more sever pain than I could find anywhere on youtube or forums. I managed to heal to full functionality, with soft food and fasting. Now, the blood is there again even though I did everything right. So frustrating. While it was healing I knew I wasn't 100%, but seating and bit extra food did the damage. Hope it won't go sever again. I have overseas trip in two weeks. Gosh

@@Luvrenebebe Marginally. Thanks for asking. Turned out that I have prostate issues as well and the two conditions seem to be fanning the flames of the other. Both are in the same part of the body but different specialists are involved for each. The prostate is improving more but the hemorrhoids are only marginally improved. I don’t think I have fissures any more though. So some positive news. I still fear going #2, but it’s not been as bad as it was a month ago.

I got antibiotics and I got diarea from that for 2 weeks. No one told me that i could get hemmorhoids from this. Finally I told my doctor that is not normal. Finally let me off them. My body got twisted. Had the worst constipation. Had to get hospitalized again for laxtation. Finally cause of all that time and pressure I got a fissure and I feel it in the difference of pain. Now im constantly on pain killers that is how worse the pain is eventhough my stool is soft. Plus rapid weightloss triggers hemmorhoids so I wanna cry. Im a business owner and its suffering because of this. Standing for even 15 minutes is a whole lot of hell no's. Feels like a losing battle

Dr. Chung is great. His info has helped. This is also what helped me. 1. Sole type of hemorrhoid ointment. (Dr. Chung’s probably works great. I personally used something else) (ebanel Hemorrhoid treatment ointment) 2. Stopped eating meat for awhile and ate things that created soft stools. (Ezekiel Food for Life cereal, organic oatmeal, lots of hydrating fruits, vegetables, whole grain breads and noodles) 3. Using a suppository before going to bathroom. 4. Herbs (stone root, witch hazel) takes these in whatever for is most comfortable. (Powder form or tablets are great for me). This is great!! Take it! 5. Boroline (I haven’t tried this but I have heard this works wonders for anal fissures. I hope this blesses someone. I pray you will be well and healed!

I was actually looking the anal fissure problem up because my dog had them bad unbeknownst to me. But vet said they were bad probably from the diarrhea he has been batteling due to lack of pancreatic enzymes. Heads up to all you German Shepherd owners. I just wanted to say I admire the way you present things and put things into a perspective for your viewers. You are one of those medical people who remind others( like my sister does) that we all live in a meat sack we are all human and sometimes the body fails us. Kudos to you Dr. And I guess those fissures are painful as my dog tried to bite me which he has never done.

So many people in pain, I really feel for you all, the pain I was in certainly wasn't as bad as what some of you have experienced, but it was awful. Not just the pain though, the feeling of needing the toilet constantly at times or the "I want to go out of the house at 9am but I think I've got a bm coming so I'll wait for that, 5PM you're still in the house". I started taking thyroxine (prescribed) about 9 months ago which had a mild laxative effect, I think that had an improving effect. Now I'm more used to the medication, the bms are getting harder again and I'm starting to get worried again. What you need to do if you can and you're not doing is to lubricate up there with a finger before bms. I'm not wanting to be crude here, but you wouldn't expect that someone putting something in there wouldn't lubricate the area. I've spoken to many people who have never done this and after doing it cannot believe the difference or the fact they've never thought to do this before.

I have been bleeding off and on with an bad anal fissure tear for over a year that just wasn’t getting better. I had a sphincterotomy sept 14th for fissure tear. 7 days later emergency surgery to cut an abscess to the left of my anus! Not sure what happened! 😭😭😭 it’s was horrific. I am traumatized to say the least. It has been 3 weeks since the fissure surgery and my lower back started hurting last night and I just didn’t feel right down there. I woke up to go potty and there was the bleeding again. And a little stinging. I could use some encouraging words, that this is part of the healing process. Tonight I watched your video and I honestly think if I had not of watched this I would have given up the desire to live. Anita (57 year old mom/grandmother)

Best video yet man. Seriously. This one is gonna really resonate with us fissure sufferers. The soft poo tear. ‘This is insane’ pretty sure I’ve yelled the exact same thing from my bathroom haha this is gonna really help me mentally during the small infrequent tears. Even when I don’t have pain during BM I do still have discomfort sitting and maybe like some sort of friction or Inflammed kind of feeling later in the day. Can this be from fissure? Or is this like external haemorrhoids at the same time? I feel like this problem exists no matter well my fissure is doing snd docs keep telling me there is nothing serious going on haemorrhoids wise so I’m at a bit of a loss unless it is the fissure that can cause this inflamed feeling. Would love your opinion on the inflamed feeling. Doc things anti-inflammatories are good idea but they thin the skin so surely that is bad for fissure and the type of immature scar tissue that you are talking about? Maybe a video topic could be healing fissure with haemorrhoids and how to kind of combine treatments and what different approaches there is etc. Thanks for being you and honest.

I have similar issue, I had hemorrhoidectomy an year and a half ago and since then I have on and off fissure. The doctors says it's just small tears that caused by inflammation in the area but they don't know what's the inflammation origion. I also have sometimes little uncomfortable or burning feeling in the area specially when sitting even if my fissure didn't open. Not sure what is your problem exactly.

Dear Doctor, thank you for this emancipating video. Extremely helpful. In my case, I tend to get fissures every year in December, and I think it has got to do with the fact that it is winters then and my water consumption drops from anyway low to very very low, like maybe 1 glass of water a day. Which I think causes constipation which then reignites the fissure. Have you heard of/seen such cases of winter fissures?

Have some fruit in the morning with some nuts ( walnuts, pecans, macadamia etc.). Chew very well. Don’t eat junk, only some fruit, plenty of veggies, and fish, meat during the day. Use zinc (health food store) internally for healing. Put 1 tsp. of psyllium husk in a cup, pour water in it and let it sit till next day. Increase dosage over time up to 2 tbsp., some take even more - experiment. Stir and drink it some time in the morning. Also put 1 tsp. of chia seeds in another cup ( you can increase dosage over time - experiment), pour water in it and let sit overnight as well. Stir and drink both preferably during first half of the day, perhaps better apart from each other - but experiment. This will soften your stools as long as you drink enough water during the day. Be careful with processed food, salt and dairy intake all of which can cause dry, hard stools. Hope this helps - it helps me. Have this problem for the last couple of days after experiencing a week of hard stools. Psyllium husks and chia seeds are of tremendous help to me. And I also changed my diet as above. This really does help. Tried colloidal silver on my bump the last couple of nights, but I don’t think it works. Have to see what the health food store has to offer. Need some natural healing cream for my bump. Hope this is of help to you.

By far your videos are the very best thing I have come across, so I can’t thank you enough. In particular your other video where you recommend against surgery shows you are honest by nature. I was harmed once by a doctor that pushed an unnecessary eye procedure, and that has unfortunately changed my life permanently. So when I watched your video I could tell you are honest, caring, and have the patients’ best interest in mind; and now we all know empathetic from experience as well. I will try to take the small wins. The one thing I would love for you to incorporate into a video is exercise during healing. I used to walk and bike a lot, and now I feel like even short walks are impeding my recovery, so I’ve come to a complete standstill, and that’s not good physically or mentally. Please comment if you have time and thank you again.

I’ve been dealing with an anal fissure for 3-4 years straight. It comes and goes and nothing has helped me. It literally takes over your life. Morning poops are the worst. I finally somewhat got it under control. I’ve used all the creams available. What I did that finally gave me some hope was using a Qtip and covering it with Rectiv (which is over $600 for a tube) sucks that insurance won’t help with this medication. I also used a small mixture of antibiotic cream. I inserted the qtip to where the cut is and leave it in while I lay and play games or watch tv with half of the qtip still hanging out. I did this for a week or two along with keeping my stools soft with stool softener and finally my fissure slowly was able to heal. No more swollen, burning, painful stools in the morning. I no longer see blood streaks in my stool and the swelling is gone! IM NOT A DOCTOR OR PROFESSIONAL. PLEASE DO NOT DO WHAT I DID. I’m just telling you what I did to help me in my situation. After all these years, I can finally poop with out pain. I’m sure you’re not suppose to put antibiotics creams in your body like that but I DID NOT insert it fully, just enough for the medication to the affected area. It was a very small amount along with Rectiv. Im praying that it stays away. I hope everyone who’s dealing with this issue gets it resolved or somewhat under control. I’ve tried everything to avoid surgery. Peace be with you all. 🙏
