Be careful, I visited Ho Chi Minh in August 2023 and I was duped by a shoe cleaner. He approached me while I was looking at the map on my phone, placed some glue on my sneaker, he said it had a rip on the sole and offered to repair & clean it. When I asked him how much it would cost, he just said, "Later, later." and insisted on taking off my shoes. I assumed it shouldn't be more than 10-15 USD, so I allowed him to do it. after he finished it, he asked me for 1M VND which surprised me (around 42USD, I'm not sure if it's a standard price??? but I guess not).
