Makes you wonder what would happenif they used 4 large high bypass engines like on an airbus or similar instead of 8 small engines like they have now. More range? Wont fit under wings? Some other reason more modern and higher efficiency engines can't be used?

Obviously they're getting upgraded soon but will still be 8 small engines and no additional power. No more black smoke and more efficient though. I'd just wonder if a larger single fan would be a better choice
