I live in Winston Salem nc just recently bought a 2019 scat from the dealer insurance auction that was stolen out of Lexington SC. Crazy what these people are doing, I will say this though. Most of these thieves have to use an obd device to program a key to the car in order to take it. So first thing they are going to do is unplug your little tracker. Sadly enough. A company needs to come up with one that’s hidden and CANT be detected.

I got a gt and even i installed an immobilizer on the ignition system. I use the faraday key case and i also bolted down a steel cover over my neutral safety strap. I know Gt models dont really get stolen but the fact that it basically looks like a rt or a scat, i dont even want anyone to try in the least bit.

If the Carlock plugs into the OBD2 port, wouldn't it be too east for the car thief to simply unplug it and throw it out the window? Then you're back to square 1 with no security or GPS tracking unless you got air tags. Seems kinda pointless to get the Carlock since it's so accessible and too easy to disable 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I use a carlock and AirTag, carlock alerts you right away of movement, will they unplug it and toss it, yes most likely, but all good, you have the AirTag hidden for the tracking, the AirTag doesn’t alert you when you car starts moving, that’s where Carlock is good, also it alerts you when they unplug it.

I live in northern Virginia, in the DC metro area of which Prince George's County Maryland is right across the Potomac. It's so intertwined that you'll see Maryland tags all day, and never leave Virginia. There are A LOT of chargers and challengers here, especially with Maryland tags, and of course tinted windshields! I can usually look forward to embarrassing one a week. No surprise on the story. Prince George's County is both the 2nd wealthiest majority black county in the nation, and the 2nd most crime filled jurisdiction in this area, second only to DC. The "culture" just promotes and embraces crime. It's so bad with the Mopars, I just assume it's being operated by criminals.
