I've had good luck with those Wing Wang carbs. I've used them on 4 cycle and 2 cycle engines. It may go south tomorrow but I like them so far. Cheers Steve, nice work

How's she goin'? I liked that tip for determining if the carb is plugged. That's a smart way to check it. The carbs we get from off shore are kind of hit and miss. For every good one we get there is a bad one in the mix too. I have to say though, the quality at the Wing Wang is getting better. Good luck with this carb Steve. Take 'er easy!!

Good stuff, Steve! All this small engine business is why I've purchased battery string trimmer and blower and considering battery mower! Small engine maintenance and repair never ends... I rebuilt my Mantis carb and my father's mantis carb. Both working great the last few years! I tried a cheap carb on an old Honda (was 1/4 the price of the official Honda rebuild kit!). It ran great, but the float valve seat had been totally mangled so the float wouldn't shut off the fuel. It was okay when running and if you remembered to shut off the fuel every time you parked it, otherwise the float bowl would overflow and you'd find the tank had emptied itself onto the ground. The second cheap carb was/is fine. Maybe the float bowl problem is something I'm cursed with... A couple of years ago I purchased a "Craftsman" lawn tractor. Sometimes it's float bowl leaks. I think the solenoid that is supposed to shut off the fuel sometimes doesn't. The carb overflows into the intake manifold, so if it doesn't shut off the fuel and the intake valve stopped while open, it fills the entire engine with gasoline and then overflows onto the floor a mixture of oil and gas. I couldn't get a tech to "see" the problem, so I put a shut off in the fuel line. My nephew loves riding that old Honda around, just like I did with Grandpa's when I was a kid. He's been using the lawn tractor for a few years and this summer he learned how to drive the little diesel tractor - pick your gear with the normal gear shift, that lever selects forward or reverse, the next lever selects high or low gearing, the bottom lever engages the PTO, pull this to shut off fuel before turning off the electrical, do this to preheat the glow plugs, ... - and he had fun cutting the lane and pasture. That diesel tractor is far more reliable than I have any right to see.

@Sylvan_dB Hi Sylvan I'm slowly going cordless as the technology catches up but overall cordless electric is maintance free and very reliable.

Watching this I realized that I’m an old primer bulb because it takes me forever to get up😂 (up from the floor, I mean. In every other way, I get up quickly😂). Good diagnosis and fix. I never knew there were 2-stroke tillers. It sounds just like a chainsaw. First pull on the start is impressive. I have had good luck with Amazon knock-off carburetors. 🎉Good one, Steve

Great video Steve - yes I did the same thing for a chainsaw - bought a wing wang carb, installed it and fired right up only issue was the linkage was slightly different and made the final reassembly impossible - lesson learned, make sure new one is identical to original. Cheers

@Erated78 Hi Ed 15 years ago it was getting lucky with wingwang stuff but over the years much better.

It would be interesting to see if this carb continues to work long term. If parts keep improving we are going to benefit so much Steve given the price. Thanks Buddy!
