Out of all the people I’ve heard talk about strato saws, this animation did the most to help me really understand the cycle. You have a positive pressure in the transfers that the intake finally overcomes when pressure drops. That keeps raw fuels from exiting via the exhaust. While this approach works, it seems overly complicated on what could be fixed just by having the transfers open a few degrees later and a shorter duration. Why have the exhaust port open when the transfer is open? Make the transfer open exactly when exhaust closes…. Problem solved and strato charge not needed.
