You put the inlet pipe on the exhaust and the exhaust on the inlet pipe.

Yes you're right, I forgot to address that in the video. If anyones reading be careful to get your pipes on the right way round

Must be nice working on a new van and not have stubborn rusty bolts. All looking good, if can try make diesel heater exhaust face backwards so then can be used when driving in winter months 👍

Yeh the towbar wiring is a pain in the ass and I do it for a living for VW lol 🤣, space in a round the ops is minute and with hands like shovels it a task an a half.

Hi karl thanks for taking the time to do all these vids its already helped me out. Have you ever thought about fitting the heater under the van to save more space inside. I know they say you should always try to install them inside the van but surely with the covers over them it would be ok.
@KBeadle3 жыл бұрын
I’m sure it would be fine but I have read that they aren’t as waterproof as the expensive ones so I like mine in the van. Also the less work I have to do under the van the better 😊
@EdTurner.3 жыл бұрын
Hi Karl, I fitted my heater with a stainless chassis mount (in fact i messed up a rivnut install doing that), i mounted the fuel pump similar to where you have, it was annoying so i got one of the silicone housings ..still annoying in the end i stitched a loop in some 40mm wide about 6mm thick braided bungee elastic bolted that tight top and bottom at the correct angle and slid the pump into the loop, its as quiet as its getting, i can sew you one and post it if you have a suitable address to give. I really don’t understand why people spend over £30k on a van to build as a camper and put a shite £100 Chinese heaters in them, there loud poorly made, spend the money and get a good quality German heater,

I've got the Westfalia towbar and electrics to fit to my T6. So electric run under the van from the towbar to under the drivers seat? Then inside the van to get under the dash? I've got the Westfalia extension for the electrics that runs from the battery to I thought under the passenger seat? And the electric plug into that? My van doesn't have towbar prep,does yours?
@KBeadle3 жыл бұрын
No it didn’t. There’s 12v power under the passenger seat but you have to also connect into the BCM plugs. That’s the hard bit

Was it easy to prime the fuel line as it seems a bit of a distance..got my Erbaspacher to install yet and have to go from tank at back to front seat, do you think a non return valve is worth putting in line ? as I’m using a stand pipe from top of plastic fuel tank I think it could siphon back.

I just sucked it through before I attached the filter and then it took 3 attempts to get it going

Neat job, but why not just stick the heater under the van? I did that, plumbed into the main tank, then ducting up into the van - no worries about diesel smells etc in the van then, and you can't hear the pump.
@KBeadle3 жыл бұрын
the pump is under the van. These Chinese heaters aren't as water proof as the more expensive ones so I'd rather it be in the van.
@PAULKB323 жыл бұрын
Hi karl would it be ok for you to share the link for this heater thanks. Plus can you remember if it was just as straight forward as this when you fitted one to the ford custom i.e the fuel line in to the tank.
@KBeadle3 жыл бұрын
you have to drop the diesel tank on both of them but the Transit is easier as you don't need to remove the sender unit www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07TVCCZS8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Can the heater be fitted under the van?
@AJ-qn6gd4 ай бұрын
Yes it can my Eberspacher is under the floor and the factory fit Webasto is mounted underneath but the electrics on the Chinese heaters are not sealed so may suffer from water ingress or damp.
