Refreshing middle part and perimeter area is great advice. I did that when I had my locs and it always made my hair look like it was newly done. I have shoulder-hair now and I’m growing my hair using this mini braids method. I’m glad I found your channel! ❤

I always rebraid mine mini braids every month but I have decided to keep it for three months. Yesterday I did the front and back area only and I was surprised that my hair is getting longer. Thank for this video

Took four braids out after finding out two of the them at the back matted. I was wondering if that is something you experience with your braids or is my hair generally more prone to matting? Do you have any advice in terms of this and how to mitigate it?

Hey Kimmyrine, If you're talking about when they are intertwined together by new growth, yes I do experience that when I do the usual post 2-month rebraiding. There's a video that shows this as well as far as how some of my braids look after 2 months. There's a video that I talk about in this particular video that goes into more detail about this as well that I linked.

Hi! I wanted to share, I had installed mini braids in dec and a month after my hair was looking ridiculous. It was frizzy, and many of the braids were untangling and nodding up with one another I had to re-braid my hair this past January. But this time what I did was I often kept my Mini braids in cornrows, or in a style that tucked in my ends, and wouldn’t let my hair down too often. Now a month later, I am able to see new growth, and my hair is not as tingly as it was prior. All in all, maybe try a secondary protective style and see if that works for you. Sidenote, I also now make sure my hair is tied up or braided under my bonnet before I go to sleep

@@dainap.4553 Hi! Thanks for sharing! Interestingly enough I keep my braids in two cornrows bc I don’t like to feel my hair on my neck and face. I am glad they have tamed your frizz. I am starting to think I get frizz because I spray my hair with my Ayurvedic spray prior to moisturizing. How do you moisturize your hair?

@kimmyrine Oh mann.. def understand. Ya maybe you might have to just do a few rebraids here and there until you figure it out cause this is a JOURNEY lol!! but I had recently got into using a mixture of 2 tbsp of vegetable glycerin to 1 cup of water. I will spritz that on my hair every 3 days. I also use a coconut leave in conditioner from OKAY with a bottle mixture i have of olive oil and rosemary oil. The glycerin has helped hydrate my hair tremendously and I recommend it to ANYBODY!
