I'll tell you something. In my humble opinion, your videos are simply the best golf instructional videos online. Everything from the actual quality of the instructions given, to the integration of graphics, and the pace of the content is extremely high quality. You clearly must put a lot of effort into it, and I sincerely hope it is paying off for you in terms of views and ultimately in revenue. 👍

It's amazing how small adjustments to your grip can make such a huge difference! Great video!

Absolute gold Chris..!! Very basic, yet very important instruction. I've lost count of the times I've stressed the vital importance of getting the grip correct, yet time and time I hear, it doesn't feel comfortable like that. It truly blows my mind.!! It's the very first thing to learn in the golf swing, get the fundamentals right and then learn to swing the club.

Brilliant! It works. Thanks. I was looking so long for this solution!!!! Million thanks from 🇩🇪

Great reminder for me, Chris. At times throughout the season I will notice my yardages are down and the fault is invariably that I'm adding tension and grip pressure. And probably the grip is creeping back into the palm as well. I'm quite tall and thin, so I have a long arc and a lot of potential power, but because there's so much elbows and knees flying about there's also a potential for a lot to go wrong. And when strike starts to go poorly I naturally tend to unconsciously "steer" the club more, shortening the swing and causing club speed and distance to plummet. It's very hard mentally to keep swinging long and loose and fluid when you're not striking the ball well, but when I can do it, strike comes back sooner.
@jsusna1972Ай бұрын
I believe it was Sam Snead who said he kept his wrists "oily," which you describe as "fluid." It really does take some effort and practice to keep the grip firm and the wrists loose, but that's what baseball players do as well as quarterbacks when they throw the ball. A good waggle with the thought of being "loosey-goosey" with the wrists helps. Watch a video of Jason Dufner to get an idea. It also helps if you breathe out before starting the backswing to keep the tension out. Thanks to this video, I realize that my left-hand grip is too much in the palm. I'm definitely going to correct that during my next range session. You did a great job of showing how the incorrect left-hand grip hinders a good whip through the ball.

Great video Chris , thanks mate well explained about the importance of the grip . Even in the emoji icon their he’s got the club in the correct finishing position 🏌🏼♂️ over the shoulder

The biggest improvement in my ball striking is closing off that left hand and showing at least 3 knuckles and the right hand with the thumb across the grip to the fingers. I've changed it 3 times and now after a year or so I'm happy with it. I would say its a strong grip but you can still be loose and compress the ball and it stays straight. Thanks for more tips mate!!

Holy cow! I have never been able to understand why I can’t get my club to finish on my shoulders and I do exactly as you said and kind of hold it off. I figured it was because I wasn’t following through properly, I would have never imagined it was because my wrists were too stiff. I’ll be testing this on the range tomorrow.
@ChrisRyanGolfАй бұрын
Hope it helps, range is definitely the best place to give this a go

very interested to try this on the range. the 1st grip fault i dont have but i definitely think i keep my wrists too locked, my finishes very much look like that

This is so important. As a new toorrr when I’m doing terrible it’s because iv forgotten to monitor grip strength and holding the club badly

Good video, im struggling with teaching a good grip to my gf,she claims its due to having no padding on the heel of her left hand to hook it under,i have suggested some sort of beauty filler injection! failing that im going to draw a black line on her white glove which will probably lead to her practicing her hinge/slap release on my face!

Great video. Like everything there's always an exception. Pretty sure Bryson holds the club in his palms and Tommy finishes short with his driver.

Absolutely, I always say that almost everything that I coach you can find someone that does the opposite
@MichaelPiranian-i2cАй бұрын
Thanks for this tip. I usually do the mistake you just showed, so next time I'll try to put the grip more in my fingers and see what happens.

Interesting - I've always understood that the club should be held right at the base of the fingers of the left hand - back to the drawing board
@benpennington7532Ай бұрын
If I move my grip into the palm it makes no difference to how high I can lift the club. If I turn my knuckles toward the ground and make my left hand grip incredibly weak as you did (but without mentioning it) then yes it does restrict my wrist hinge in the same way.
@grantss1Ай бұрын
Isn't #1 essentially strong grip vs weak grip? By holding the club in your fingers you move the hand further around the shaft, making for a strong grip.
@ChrisRyanGolfАй бұрын
Often is yes but not exclusively, you can be strong and in the palm or weak, but more often as you say it’s palmy and weak
@phildaniels4416Ай бұрын
when one is young one can swing back over ones shoulders and see the club head and on follow thru way back over ones shoulders, but when one is older ie 80+ suppleness is missing. Please cover all ages.
@ChrisRyanGolfАй бұрын
Hey Phil, I do try to cover all ages and all golfers, every golfer in my experience can get the club in the right part of the hand and all golfers of any age can have the correct grip pressure, which part excludes the older category?
