Excellent job Harry in using the hand on the thigh drill to explain proper tilting! I do hit thin and fat shots occasionally and I'm sure that my shoulders are to flat coming into the ball! I have to work on getting the correct tilt into the shot! Well Done Harry!

How do You get club head speed just using the body instead of the club head being freed up to whip through ????
@harryshawgolf26 күн бұрын
@lb8766 practice both actions, whipping the club to help keep/ build more speed, but this action here allows for more consistency of strike. Applying both strike and swing speed will equal more ball speed and therefore maxed out distance.

For all the naysayers: Actually they can. I hear this same sentiment about baseball/softball players and I teach an elite swing to 8 years old players. Anyone can mimick what pros do. Now, they may not have the club speed or flexibility but they can do what the pros do. 63 y/o here and I now hit the ball farther now than 10years ago because I’ve put into play some of these techniques. My 3-W has replaced my driver cause I carry it 230/240 yards with much better control. If you tell someone they ‘can’t’ do something they will believe they can’t. She them how they can and their ability to do is almost limitless. Yes. It does take time and repetitions but it is possible to make changes and you might get worse before you get better. Good change is never easy but worthwhile.

@rjlovell1 so true, thank you for clarifying this. Much appreciated!

I can do the drills But as soon as it comes to hitting a ball - even at the range - it all goes out the window.

Try swinging at 50% until it's baked in. When I try to swing at normal speeds when learning a swing change or new drill, it goes out the window. Swinging at half speed or less plus an enormous amount of repetition helps.

@ thanks. Easier said than done. As soon as the white demon ball is there, my monkey brain takes over - must hit hard. Lol.

@OdinStan it's tricky to get into the swing of this as soon as you begin trying with the ball. The recommendation from @cluman1 is a great way to break things down. You can break it down even further by simply going 10%... literally aiming to hit the ball 10 yards, then 20 then build it up from there. Hope this helps & happy new year for tomorrow!
