2 tips for Linux users

I like this channel. I found a lot of useful things. One thing which I still didn't get is with clear understanding is: After installed Void Linux with hyperland from previous video on Thinkpad T14s Gen4 (amd). Firefox download files as *.part extenstion and with Intellij I can't use drug and drop. Looks like i missed something. Chat GPT and googling didn't help. Maybe someone faced with the same issues. I have no idea how resolve those issues.

That means the download was not complete, just start it over

That behaviour repeats for all downloads from any of files just for firefox. To avoid that problem each time I copy link on file and download with wget. Problem repeats with firefox only. I asume that problem somehow related with env variable(s) in hyperland.conf file.

Drug and drop sounds sus lol

Drug and Drop is awesome ;-) I had issues with hyprland because of missing portals, wayland needs those to properly function. Maybe also something else, hard to tell as there are so many things that are unclear from your description... The Firefox issue sounds weird, maybe find someone locally to help you? How did you install Firefox, as Flatpak or as native packet? It could be some permission problem or another issue because of the missing portal

@@NUDELMOB Download was complete because if I manually rename file.part to correspond file which I downloaded it's size correspond to source and can be opened or runed

Been trying to move to the lowest ram setup i can and thinking about gentoo or void but man idk if i can...i think i can knowledge wise but don't think i have the time/patience and i consider myself pretty patient lol

I could recommend CrunchBang++ but it is based on Debian 12, there you have a preconfigured Openbox that is low on RAM usage.
